I miss Download Status Bar, much more useful and interactive than this silly new FF manager that is forced upon you...since somehow the new FF turns it off. Meh!
what are you talking about?

DSB works fine under FF 20. My upgrade to 20 only had an issue with my theme, which was solved with an update to the theme. DSB never had an issue with the upgrade.

It is something they should not have changed. Old way worked just fine. Also if you have Status For Evar add on installed, I think you can select classic download view in there.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

Note to all on Firefox 20.0 .. if you use FEBE to backup your extenstions, then you need
the latest version FEBE 7.3 .. earlier versions will hang when used with Firefox 20.0

i use mozbackup version 1.5.1 and it worked fine just now.

Yeah, that's one of my biggest peeves about Mozilla - they feel the need to change things, and the changes are always awful. It's a pain to have to search on the internet how to revert it back or find an extension to undo it.

Yes, thank you...but FF still prevents DSB.

Uhhh...no...it doesn't.

I'm using it with FF 20 right now...no issues...I still have the new download manager in the upper right corner as well but I'm going to disable that asap.

I wouldn't got that far. I really like the current look of the web browser, and I even like the new way it is handling downloads.

I have been using it a few days now, and I really like how it doesn't sit there constantly updating tabs.

I don't care how they ship it by default as long as I can set it up the way I like. I haven't lost anything I like yet.

Which is why I'll always prefer FF over any other browser for as long as they allow changes to be made. It's a shame they feel they need to copy Chrome on damn near everything in their default product just to maintain market share of browser use, but at least they let you change it back to how you like it.

Yep that is unfortunate.

Am I the only one that likes the new download implementation? I like not having to mess with another window.

I disabled the window pop up long ago, so it was an annoyance to me. It created a new pop up box showing my downloads. All I want to know when I download something, is how much time is left on it. I don't need a graphic to show me the progress, where it is, or anything else.

I like the new download method also. An extra window is usually a PITA, and on the rare instances I want one, I can click the icon to get it.

Does Firefox 20 handle SSL certificates differently? I'm noticing that I'm getting invalid SSL certificate errors with the newer versions of Firefox, although the SSL certs are shown as valid in Chrome and IE.

lovin it.

It took me a couple days to get used to it, but I am really liking that feature now. I like it better than the way the download in Chrome works, as it doesn't take up screen space.

Not as far as I know. which sites are giving you problems?

oh and I like the new download window as well. I always used to have to close the old window which was kind of annoying.

Should everyone have received this update by now? Neither computer I have access to, W7 and W8, have yet.

About the only gripe I have is that every time it opens a PDF it says it did not do so correctly, but looks fine.

I don't like the pdf reader. I tried it for awhile, and went back to Evince. It's kind of slow, and I've never been a fan of reading pdfs in the browser.

I don't mind PDF reader in Firefox, between that one and Win8 built-in PDF reader covers my needs.
