I have been using Firefox 28 since it updated and i have noticed that Firefox 28 has been less stable than Firefox 27. I know i shouldn't be using Windows XP these days but i wasn't having these stability problems before the update to Firefox 28 from Firefox 27.

Where are you seeing the problems? It was a seamless update here.
That is odd. Have you considered trying to block the google ads?
Also, does the same thing happen when you use FF with no addons enabled?
The Firefox problem has been fixed with a clean installation so i am getting rid of mozilla maintenance service so monthly clean installations of Firefox.
I believe System Ninja does a good job of getting rid of the old leftover FF profiles with its junk cleaner ,http://singularlabs.com/software/system-ninja/
I use it as backup to CCleaner, had no issues with it and FF after cleanup.
Mozilla should realize that the people like the ability to change the interface to suit them. Nobody really cares what changes they make internally, as long as people can customize it to their taste.
I just looked at your link above. That is the ugliest interface I have ever seen. It will not be on my computer looking like that.
Everything is trying to look like Chrome,Opera and even that FF beta, yes we want customisation and variation in browsers.
What has happened to the developers, have they given up?
if i wanted firefox to look and run like google chrome then i would be using google chrome instead of firefox wouldn't i?
I honestly don't give two craps what it looks like. As long as it performs the same or better than the previous version I'm happy.
I'm not familiar with Opera. Are you saying that because the visual appearance of Opera changed it no longer funtions the same? Or are you saying the devs at Opera changed the underpinnings of Opera and at the same time decided to change the visual appearance?
Nice, this update wiped out all my tabs, extensions, and add-ons, and reset the browser preferences back to default.
It kept my bookmarks though.
How thoughtful.
First time for me, too.Never seen that happen on an update before. There could be something wrong with your profile, so I'd recommend saving your bookmarks, deleting the profile completely and starting anew.
First time for me, too.
The few other times that's happened, it just comes out of nowhere. Most commonly (every few months) is that my saved tabs get wiped out without a trace.
