ABP + No-Script are a must and for me so is Download Helper to rip flash videos but ABP and no Script are a must.

I'll wait.

Incidentally, I got many of my extensions working by adding a boolean value to about:config Add "extensions.checkCompatibility" false and restart. Many of the extensions will work, although some do give unpredictable results.

Just updated to FF RC1, and AdBlock+ is working fine for me also. (v 0.7.5.4)

Working AddOns
1. AB+ 0.7.5.4
2. NoScript 1.6.5

Not Working
1. Dictionary Tooltip 1.1.2
2. No Squint 1.0.1 (not really needed now that it remembers each sites zoom settings)
3. Better Gmail 2 0.3.5
4. CookieSafe 2.0.6

I have to find a new cookie program. Any suggestions?? I liked my old one because you could save all u'r cookies to a text file and reload them whenever you do fresh installs of windows.

Wow, was shocked how painless installing it was. All my Bookmarks, Home Pages, Quick Launch Links worked from the get-go. Nice.

None of my Plugins work though and the Theme selction is practically non-existant, unless I want something Tutti-Frutti.

I'll guess, No. None of mine did, but it doesn't uninstall 2.x so trying it out is not risky. From what I've read anyway.

Maybe. Using the hack in my above post, these are my results, some of which aren't fully tested.

** Is there any way to clone new tabs and windows using both the File menu's New Tab/Window option, or the Ctrl+T/N shortcuts?**

The Clone Tabs extension did this in FF2, but it doesn't work with FF3 - with it installed, I just can't open new windows or tabs at all.

And I'd like to disable that irritating drop-down thing that comes up as soon as I start typing anything in the address bar. It's quite distracting.

It does definitely load pages faster, though still not dual-CPU capable, it seems.

I also get this when trying to view my Downloads:

Man, I couldn't do it. I had to switch back to Firefox 2 because my cookie management add-on wasn't working in Firefox 3. Everything else I could have lived without temporarily!

Yeah, a lot of my extensions aren't working anymore.

I'm amazed they still haven't added cloned window/tab functionality to Firefox itself yet, at least as an option.

For cookies, I use Cookieculler. It's really simple in how it works - Protect the cookies you want to keep, and you can set it to delete all unprotected cookies every time Firefox starts.

Quick impressions:

-Rendering is much improved. FF2's rendering was... just a little bit off.
-Shrinking and enlarging the screen (Ctrl-mouse wheel) works much better and is now better than IE7.
-FF has taken in some of the looks of IE7 and now looks both clean and more modern/stylish. Minor niggles to sort out.
-A great release, very impressed

Switching to firefox; rendering issues were holding me back.

Main pros and cons of FF3 vs IE3 for me (mainly usability issues)
+ Storing usernames/passwords. IE has the option sometimes but often not. FF works in many more situtations. And now it is even more convenient: asks whether you want password stored after the login attempt. Hopefully as FF becomes more popular sites won't find ways to prevent users from storing username/password combinations in FF.
+ search is much better in FF: search terms are put at the bottom of the screen and is persists untill crossed out rather than in a window which can easily get lost in other windows and disappears when the user does anything. I'm sure IE would want to copy this but is maybe afraid of obvious plagiarism.

-It's nice to have a download manager but saving is not intuitive compared to IE click-open/save as.
-Often you want to run an exe file from the internet. This does not seem possible in FF. In the download manager run is not an option. You have to save the exe, run it, and then delete it. Far too many operations for a simple and extremely common task.
-It is sometimes obvious that the threading in FF is not optimal. IE makes use of more threads (one each tab I think?). FF is not optimized in this way and so can get stuck opening many tabs at once. I am sure this will be fixed because everyone knows these days you have to optimize for multicore systems.
