Not sure why you are thinking that.... it's not like the viral pounding we all received when FF 3.5 was first released.

I'm referring to the typical Firefox fanfare where the browser will pop up a box and say "HEY!!! Look at me, look at me, look at me!!! I have a motherfucking update to install!!!! CLICK HERE TO RESTART AND INSTALL MY AWESOME NEW UPDATE YO!", followed by a browser restart and a redirect to a website showing the (mostly useless/uninteresting) fixes. I much prefer the Chrome way of doing things - every now and again I'll look at the "about" box and my version number is a little bigger than it used to be and I don't know or care when or why the updates were installed.

I'll switch to Chrome if it 1. Gets an Adblock that is as easy to install and works as well as the one in Firefox and 2. Doesn't become bloated and slow over time from updates for it.

I really like Chrome but it needs to stay that fast and not become a huge and slow browser.

I'll switch to Chrome when hell freezes over. They'd have to change almost everything to get my interest.

As far as Firefox updating... They let you know so you can decline the update if you choose to. That's a much better way of doing it instead of forcing an update and possibly breaking something important.

Oh no, it's the end of the freaking world.

I refuse to use Firefox 3.5.x because of the dns lookup fails it causes half the time. It is slow, buggy, and not good either. Tried it on more than one system too.

Firefox has really gone downhill fast.

Already updated, it may be for a few bug fixes but it's good enough for me to be happy that a few rare issues were solved.

Since I have no clue what is going on at this point, I'm not going to say for sure it is this latest update, but Firefox has been running really poorly the last few days. There's lag in just about everything (scrolling, video playback, clicking links, page loading, etc), and overall its just really annoying. Everything was working smoothly before and there's no background processes that I can see. Even just typing this, my text input will hang. Video playback has been stuttery. Yesterday Hulu basically crashed (at one point it said something about Flash running a script that would cause it to run poorly and basically locked up Firefox). Chrome doesn't seem to be impacted from what I can tell. There was also a Java update, as well, so maybe its to blame. Annoying to say the least though, and when combined with the double clicking of my mouse (Logitech wireless laser mouse that I've seen people say they've had as well), my computer is kinda pissing me off lately.

Seems to have fixed an issue with my older, slower laptop. With previous versions, I would close down Firefox and then try to open it again, it would not open and tell me that Firefox is already running, please wait. I would have to wait for a few more seconds and try again. Now, it opens up quickly even if I close it down and then open it right back up.
