ahh, that is the difference then. i am using the public release not the nightly builds.

I love running Firefox bare without anything added like Flash! It is not that much of a difference it just feels like getting a new toy to explore on the pc! Hopefully Beta 8 is released soon.

Anyway one day when we don't need Flash installed anymore that will be a very awesome time! Think it will take forever though. It is quite interesting using a browser though never installing flash. It works fine for the most part except for some websites that won't load at all unless you have it like hbo.com but I really don't care. Their lost. Will be increible if someone finds a way to have a alternative to flash that will work on all video websites at least. When I say all I mean all. Not a easy thing to do though. Highly doubtful it would ever replace Flash on sites like hbo.com that need it because that really isn't a video.

Flash is here for a long time. Not forever, but for the foreseeable future. Aside from audio/video, there's still games that use Flash.

Yeah I agree but you bring up an interesting point what about Shockwave? Do you see that sticking around as well like Flash?

Not really! Which is a good thing sense it is made by Adobe as well. God help them keeping up with two free primary browser plugins.

Look how long it took them to come out with a 64 bit version of Flash and that is still in Beta and most likely will be until close to 2012. I wouldn't be surprised if the final version is not released until after.

Can you change the font appearance? It looks different now.

Mozilla could not stick to a release schedule the day before... doubt it

plus you need to do this also for more speed - Under windows 7 you can enable direct2d and directwrite to make use of the gpu in html5 video and other sites. Also improves speed quite a bit.

To enable D2D and DW support in Mozilla Minefield:

* Point your web browser to: about:config
* Agree to the warning message if presented
* Search for value: gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled
* Set gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled to true (left click it)
* Search for value: mozilla.widget.render-mode
* Set mozilla.widget.render-mode to 6
* Restart Minefield

Just installed Firefox 4.0beta8 on a win7 hp 64-bit system, with FF.3.6 installed. I found the gfx.font_rendering_directwrite.enabled setting, but there is no mozilla.widget.render-mode setting in about:config.
