Is there an easy way to get a folder of bookmarks to open in a tab group? Or way to save tab groups?

I love the speed improvements, but other than that the new features are kinda meh so far.

as much as I like Firefox...this newest release feels clunky and not as fast as the latest 3.6.15
It stalls at moments for a few seconds when loading tabs...

I am using a decent laptop with an Intel Core i5 CPU (2.67Ghz), 4GB RAM, 7200RPM HD and dedicated graphics card.

I customized the UI and I don't have any major complains in that area.

I failed to mention but start up is also kind of slow vs the previous latest version...

That's odd... on the several machines i've tried so far including mine, both startup and other general loading has been noticeably faster.

yeah now that I am researching I find it odd as I have seen little to no comments on it being slower or hanging...most reviews are that it feels faster.

So far I've tried on this laptop and on another desktop with similar specs and the experience is similar.

Ok I think I found the reason, although with the previous firefox version it seems to behave better...both the machines i've tried have the boinc client installed and are constantly crunching. Once I suspended processing, firefox was quite snappier.

Might have to do something with process priority or something in that department.

One big downside I'm seeing so far with the hardware acceleration. Any significant browser use will cause my 6950 to throttle up to full speed for a few seconds. As a result my card (already idling hot thanks to dual monitors) runs some 4-5 degrees warmer when doing heavy browsing. Can't be very good for laptop users either.

Wow I really dislike this new FF4. I'll stick with FF3 for as long as I can...

I tried it but it broke too many things that I consider to be essential: Custom Buttons, Go to selection, Roboform, and more. Uninstalled and am back to FF 3. Not something I like to do as it normally seems like I'm just putting off problems instead of dealing with them now but oh well.

Experimenting with Lastpass right now to fix the Roboform problem but the Custom Buttons^2 thing is a deal breaker for me. I've gotten completely spoiled being able to click a single button and have it add the current tab to a special bookmark folder. No other way to do it that I have found.

I use all the common browsers. FF for main, Chrome for video and anything scripty, and IE for places that don't know how to code their websites for proper compatibility.

Firefox 4 doesn't support AVG safe search and AVG toolbar, love it otherwise.

I had to turn hardware acceleration off. The fonts are just god-awful. There's no reason it should look any different than GDI + Cleartype. With HW acceleration it feels like I'm using Linux without the MS Core Fonts.

Ditto. The font is TERRIBLE. Turning off hardware acceleration fixed the font.

I realize this is free software but come on.

yep, I've already complained about it too in this thread. Looks like internet explorer 9 has similar problem with same cause, although far less obvious. So it could be that it is Microsoft's fault. Afterall, they provide rendering.

I know there's no status bar like the one in FF3. All I see now is a popup on the bottom left side of the screen that shows the URL of the screen that's loading. Is there any way to move that to the bottom left side of the screen? It's annoying when it pops up and it covers the bookmarks at the bottom when I have the bookmarks pane open.
