Has anyone else been having trouble with certain things not loading or even showing as blocked when using noscript? Did they also dumb down / get rid of all the settings or am I just missing something? I used to be able to right click the icon and get to the settings / preferences but now all I see that is comparable is to right click manage extension then click options which doesn't appear to include everything it did in the past.

Everything seems to work as expected for me. Usage isn't as fluid as it once was, but that's due to the new webextension api. I'm not missing any options I once used, but I didn't have it particularly customized. What are you missing?

Thanks. Please look at the 3rd picture on down on this page. https://noscript.net/screenshots

I'm also having trouble seeing some images on sites and there is nothing in noscript to allow to fix the issue. Anandtech is one of those sites. Not sure if it's a firefox option or not allowing a script like servebom or if something is missing from noscript that needs allowed.

No, it doesn't have as many options. Here's my settings for here. Everything seems to work appropriately...

If you have ublock installed, it has a setting to block large media elements. Could that be ticked?

Our noscript settings appear to be about the same. The Ublock Origin 'block large media elements' setting is off. I may just have to start from scratch. I also have never refreshed firefox just because I don't want to redo everything the way I like it. When I start up firefox my homepage doesn't even work anymore and hasn't for months.

Looks like the theme system is going through an overhaul with Firefox color replacing Personas Plus in a little bit....looks interesting!

https://color.firefox.com

I like this. Makes it easy to change colors without hassling with custom css.
Nice. I just got my active tab colors changed via userChrome.css though. The default blue line is decidedly hard to detect - I had to stare at my tabs for seconds to locate the active one.

Went with #888 for the tab background color and #FF9F40 for tab line ... i.e. highlight line.

Ok, the main problem was that I was using a dark theme for Firefox.
I'm sure those of you using default colors have no idea what I'm talking about. Imagine all tabs being the same dark gray color ... except the active one has that dark blue line. The line's only 2 pixels thick.

Again, so much for Firefox "empowering users". So much useless double-speak from them, when they keep removing control, over cookies, updates, what's next?

Just what I needed!

The short answer (from the reddit thread) is that in about:config 'media.autoplay.default' is set to 0 by default. You need to change this setting in order to restore the previous functionality of media.autoplay.enabled=false. Set 'media.autoplay.default' to 1 in order to block automatic playback on all pages or set it to 2 to decide on a per domain basis.

This FF is getting worse each update, now I'm considering switching to Chrome altogether.
Are you listening, Mozilla!

I just decided to make the switch to Chrome. I've used FF exclusively for many years, but noted lately how much it lags when going from page to page on a site, especially in forums such as this.
I use LastPass extension to manage my passwords, and it has been lagging several seconds when I bring up the login page to a site. With Chrome and the LastPass extension, the username/password fields are populated instantly.
A couple of things I miss from FF, but still tweaking Chrome to get close. Backspace to go back a page, there's an extension for that. Still looking for a way to choose between download or open a file when I click on it. It's simpler to "open" a PDF/document/image than to download then open.

FWIW I recently refreshed Firefox and the performance boost was amazing. I believe it was the first time I had ever refreshed Firefox so YMMV. I did back up my bookmarks, noscript whitelist and entire profile folder just in case.

It's not the performance issue that turned me off, instead it's the decision to keep changing about:config and aboutreferences options.
For example: changing media.autoplay.enabled value is not enough with new update. And also I have to keep uncheck "Firefox Data Collection and Use" every time I update it.
