Firefox acting strangely

I just tested my website using IE 6, NS 7.2 and Firefox 1.03

Using Firefox, the stylesheet (in terms of color and font) are correct, however, I am able to change font size, despite I have set the size in the CSS page.

Both IE and NS adhere to the stylesheet.

I would have thought that Firefox would have overcome the CSS descrepencies by now.

Also, can anyone tell me the difference between Mozilla and Firefox?

When you say you can change the font size, do you mean that you can use the Firefox menus to affect the font? If so, that's a GOOD thing - I hate when some idiot makes the text too small to read and I can't make it bigger.

Firefox 1.0.x and Mozilla 1.7.x share the same rendering engine (it's supposed to be the exact, bug-for-bug same). Firefox started out as a stripped down browser, but has since grown and really is not any lighter or faster than Mozilla nowadays. Basically, it's got a user interface that looks and feels different - a lot of people seem to like it, but I don't.

The CSS code for some of the the browser menu is:

This works in IE 6 and NS 7.2 just fine.

I am not really concerned with all of my site being able to have the font size changed, but some things like my resume, I would like standard, so that when printed, I know that it should always be the same font size.

I can change the size just fine in IE...

I wouldn't advertize that page, especially to potential employers...

Please specify the size in points, so the user CAN override it. It's annoying when it's what you have there. Fortunately good browser like Mozilla and Firefox put the user in control. If you're worried about printing, you should use PDFs - there are many free PDF writers out there.

Or, for that matter, you can specify a seperate stylesheet for printing, if I'm not mistaken. Go ahead and specify an absolute font there and the chances that anyone will try to modify that are pretty slim.

But ultimately, like CTho says, if you want to put content on the web you have to let the user do what they want with it. If they use a silly browser like IE that puts control back in the web developer's hands, that's their fault but everyone has the right to manipulate your content for their own viewing pleasure.
