You will need to exit Firefox completely and manually delete the downloads.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder. On Windows systems, the profile folder is normally located under the "Application Data" folder, which may be hidden. So you need to unhide folders.
C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows login/user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\<Profile name>
After it's deleted restart firefox and and retry the download.
