Firefox ---> Chrome transitioning

I've been very frustrated lately running Firefox (latency issues) and am going to try Chrome (saw a few recommendations here). I'm totally new to Chrome, and only have experience with FF and IE. I just installed Chrome and let it import my bookmarks, passwords, etc. How can I best transition?

I have Tab-Mix-Plus installed in Firefox, a couple of other add-ons. What should I install in Chrome, how do you use it? Is there any conceivable way to get my open windows/tabs moved over from FF other than copy/paste of the URLs? I have a giant bunch.

Yeah, Chrome doesn't adblock. I have the two browsers but most of the time I am using Firefox. It works best for me.

Chrome has adblock, and a few other extensions that are popular in firefox now.

You can also use a program called HostsMan to block all advertising websites though your hosts file.

While Chrome has adblock ... it is incredibly unstable.
I would recommend staying away from any plugins in Chrome.

Chrome without plug-ins: OK. Fast.
Chrome with plug-ins: open 3 tabs and watch your computer come to a stop.
Chrome after 3 months of usage: open 3 tabs and watch your computer come to a stop. Also enjoy 15GB+ of temporary internet files.

While I greatly appreciate the look and the idea behind chrome, it went from good to bad.
at this point Chrome is worse than IE!

I used Firefox for a number of years and now exclusively use Chrome and have been for months. I like it so much better.

lol you like tabs mix plus? well we'll see you join the firefox club again rather soon then.
chrome is great in benchmarks. you know, single window/tab artificial benchmark bs.
load it up with tabs and it turns to sh*t.

Yeah, figure I'll stick with FF. Gotta get a grip on my browser activity. Too many windows, too many tabs. D:

I absolutely refuse to even acknowledge the Chrome "adblock" extensions. People don't seem to realize that these extensions don't work the same way that Adblock Plus does in Firefox. In Firefox, ads are literally blocked. Meaning the ads are never even downloaded.

In Chrome, this is not yet possible. Content can not be blocked from downloading. Therefore, all the so called "adblocks" for Chrome only remove ads. They don't block them. That's why you always see the ads come up and then disappear after a second.
If you're going to use Chrome and need to block ads, use something else. Don't use the extensions.

The ads still go away so I don't see how it's useless. I never even noticed this behavior until people here pointed it out.

I think the main difference is that FF + adblock means you don't waste time and bandwidth downloading the ads in the first place; not to mention that it's annoying for them to flash on the screen and then disappear rather than never being there at all.

I get the difference but I have enough bandwidth that I don't care if I waste a few K per page on ads and as I said, I never even noticed the "flicker" until it was pointed out.

It's not a question of bandwidth; I have an 8mb connection. It's *waiting for laggy adservers, and any compromised ads will still get through. I don't care about ads in and of themselves. I wouldn't do a thing about them if they didn't affect browsing. As it is, I get rid of them before they even start.

*A couple weeks ago I had to load Firefox to view a website because Chrome was stuck waiting for a dead ad server. The page never loaded in Chrome, but it came up right away in Firefox.
