Firefox: Multiple folder instances in Bookmarks

Hey all... Wondering if anyone's ever seen this before and has a suggestion for how to fix... When I open the bookmark management dialog in Firefox, I see the following:

Note the multiple instances of All Bookmarks, Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, and Unsorted Bookmarks. I'm guessing that the ones with different icons are the "real" ones, but it doesn't allow me to right-click & "delete" on any of them (Delete is grayed out). Any idea how to resolve?

If you type ctrl + shift + B to bring up "show all bookmarks" will it let you delete a folder?

I used to have many duplicate folders from importing my bookmarks over the years but I could always edit/delete what I needed.

That's the weird thing. I've always been able to in the past as well, but it's grayed out for these top level folders. They are synced to my FF sync profile, and I don't see the same issue on my work laptop or my SP3, so I may just wipe the profile altogether l, uninstall/reinstall, and sync back up. Will see what that does

What if you turn off/disable sync? I would also try closing and reopening the browser after you turn off sync. It couldn't hurt.

P.S. I don't use sync so I'm not that familiar with it.

I turned it off, but it keeps your local profile/history and such no matter what. No changes in the ability to delete those items within the bookmark dialog either.

Ok, so what I did fixed it. Uninstall, remove profile folder, reinstall, resync using the built-in Firefox sync, and I'm all good. Very strange, but I'm glad it wasn't something that was either corrupted with the sync on a global level, or something that while limited maybe to the local machine, wasn't synced to the others as part of the normal process. I'm good to go now. Thanks for your responses here.

Try opening firefox in safemode (no add-ons) and disable hardware acceleration (options - advanced).
