Firefox Problem

When I tried to start up Firefox one day, I wasn't able to connect and I got a message saying to create a new profile or something like that. So I did that and I was able to connect and everything was back to normal. The only thing is that everything from before is gone (history, preferences, bookmarks). How can I get them back?

Thanks for the link. I'm trying the things that it says, but I can't get to profile manager. If I type firefox -p, it just takes me the main page as usual. I'm running version 1.0.7.

The bookmarks are in C:\Documents and Settings\(Your Account Here)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(Some Random Looking Folder)\bookmarks.html

The one with the largest filesize should be your original, so you can just copy and paste it into the current profile. Usually Firefox will complain about creating a new profile when it crashes, but it isn't really crashed. If you opened your task manager when it gave you that message, you most likely would've seen another firefox.exe listed. I know I've had what you described occur and that's always been the problem. Once you forcefully close the perpetrator, you can go back to normal.

Sadly that didn't work when I had the same problem. All files had been replaced with new empty ones. All the best.
