Firefox sucks.

Why is it that when I post on other message boards such as howardforums.com, redflagdeals.com, or any other board that uses the VBB Bulletin board, my firefox crashes 8/10 times?

I switched from IE to FF hoping it wouldn't crash as much, but now it crashes almost everyday...

Nice troll attempt. FF never crashes for me, sounds like your rig has some problems. Note that I don't love FF, it has other problems that annoy me, but crashing isn't one of them.

Have you tried Opera? I had the same problems and now I don't have a single problem.

Troll attempt? I have no intentions of trolling.

I'm just pissed at FF.

I love FF, it's fast, it has nice plugins, and it's my only option because I can't get the latest IE. I also don't feel like adapting to Opera .

I just want to fix this damn problem. I started using FF last August and it worked fine until a few months ago.

WHENEVER I post in any of those VBB bulletin forums, my Firefox just crashes after I type a few words...

Clear the cache. If that doesn't work, save the bookmarks and settings from your profile and make a new one.

You should also check for malware. When I first switch from FF1.2 to 2.0, I would get constant crashes on anything that streamed - youtube for instance. Nothing showed up on hijackthis though, and Didn't stop until I ran some custom antimalware tool I found on the net. I seem to have lost it though, and can't even remember the name.

Well, I'm convinced. Your single, solitary anecdote simply overwhelms that fact that I've never seen a single FF crash since ~2.0 on 6 systems.

Firefox crashes?? I've probably seen it crash about 2-3 times since I started using it a long time ago.

What site does it crash at? What plugins are you using?

Firefox has to shutdown at least 2 time per day. It is the only browser I use except for sometimes IE7. It crashes with multiple tabs open , It crashes when trying to view Flash sites (maybe Adobes Problem) these problems really started happening when v2 came out.

It crashes 20% percent of the time when trying to open PDF's

I never had these problems with v1.5...

It used to crash a crapload on my old computer but since I've upgraded I've had maybe a crash a month. Your's probably has some sort of instability problem as well, or just needs a reinstall. Considering you can just hit the "Reopen my previous preferences" or whatever button on the post-crash pop up it's not a big deal at all anyways.

Im digging FF atm. IE kept crashing on me.

2.03 does suck sorry.... crashes at least once a day. worst release yet.

I'm using 2.0.0.3 and it has yet to crash on me yet so "best release yet".

The only time firefox crashes on me is occasionally when I first open it. Other than that it never crashes in use.

I occasionally get a crash, but that's because my system is unstable, not because Firefox is unstable. The good thing is it stores your session before it goes down so you can just restart from where you left off.

I've got one copy of FF (well, technically IceWeasel) with 9 tabs and it's using 106M RSS. Not exactly great but not terrible either. I've also got 1 copy of Galeon (which uses the Gecko renderer) with 4 windows with almost 40 tabs total and it's only using 236M RSS so it's not like it's a linear progression.

The title of the thread is "Firefox sucks" not "FF keeps crashing" or "Need help with FF" etc... get the point?

FF has givin me some problems since version 2 was released, but the only crashs I've experienced were due to a problem with the Java plugin.

I still prefer Opera personally, but FF doesn't suck.

I almost exclusively used FF with XP.

Now that I moved to Vista, FF crashes on me almost every time, much like you're describing.

Have you followed all the steps to troubleshoot the issue? I would venture to guess that a corrupt profile, software conflict or plug-in/extension conflict is at fault.
