You have something wrong with your system possibly as it works fine for me??? Did you install it on top of the old install?

if popups aren't working, your javascript may still be disabled. It's working for me.

I don't understand why people blame so many problems on updates - version increments by 0.0.1 almostnever break things, since after verzion x.y is released, only highly-important changes are allowed for x.y.1, x.y.2, etc, and they are heavily tested (it's easy to test... in the case of 1.0.4, something like 3 changes were made, while 1.1 will contain thousands).

well seen as i cant quote (and thank god for quick reply) ive reinstalled firefox but it still does the smae thing, ive allowed pop ups from this site and i reinstalled the java thing and it still does it.

yes i updated over 1.0.3 just the usual, pressed the update button and it did it all for me. then a skin i was using messed up and all i got was a blank page. starting ff in safe mode solved that, but now safe mode doesnt work either

i havent got a clue whats going on and i dont really wanna go back to using IE

Why don't you uninstall, clean out the mozilla directory and download 1.04 seperately and install.

i have uninstalled, found the mozilla folder, found the uninstaller file for ff, got rid of ff, deleted the folder completely. used IE6 (shudder) to dowload a seperate 1.0.4

does the same thing

again ive done the same with java runtime thingy

ive installed flash player, though not through firefox, i had to go to the macromedia site and download it manually too

Definitely don't think it's an issue with the update. I was a bit hesitant to upgrade after reading your comments but went ahead with it. No issues at all with it...thankfully.

just a daft question

i thought mozilla and ff were the same thing

ie mozilla came with firefox, and all the other stuff, and firefox was just the browser

otispunkmeyer, did you delete your profile? I too was having some problems (with .3 version), I had used the updater, it said there was an update for Tabbrowser Preferences, but mozilla said not to let the websites to install it, do it manually. I did, but I would still have that green updater in my browser, couldn't get rid of it. After .4 came out, I installed it and still had the same problem. After closing FF it would still be listed in my processes.
It didn't go away until I uninstalled 4, deleted my profile(Back up some important stuff like bookmarks.) and then reinstalled 4. No problems since then.
