For tabbed web pages, do you right click and tell it to "open in a new tab", just like how IE says to "open in a new window".

is this just a wrapper for exporer? Basically a new GUI for it?

If I install this, will it copy my bookmarks from IE?

This is my recommendation:

Install it, use it for a couple of weeks, and see whether you like it.


I personally have been using it for over a year, and I can't stand to use anything else.

Add the following:
tab broswer extensions
gmail notifier
SingleWindow

Add the necessary searches to it, and GO.
Make sure to back up your Firefox favorites, it has a bug where occasionally, it'll lose them all.

you can middle click on a link, too, to open it in a new tab. or ctrl-click. thats probably easier than right clicking and selecting to open in a new tab.

For tabs, I usually just hit <ctrl>-t to open a new tab, where in IE I would have hit <ctrl>-n to open a new browser window.

You can also drag a link to a tab (click and hold link, drop it over the tab you want the link to load in).

Certainly not! Firefox is a complete stand-alone browser, with lots of great features. Check out this site:

Note that Firefox is based largely on Mozilla code, so all the things listed on this site are also available in FF. Firefox is way more standards compliant (for those who care), and tabbed browsing is the best thing since images on the web! Once you use it, you will never go back! Or at least you shouldn't...

JavaScript Console and JavaScript Debugger. With tabbed browsing, this thing rocks for web development.. way better than having four or five seperate windows for pages up at once!

Why would you need both of these? TBE (in all its bloat) handles absolutely everything to do with tabbing and windows

Middle-clicking links opens them in new tabs. I'm not sure why nobody else mentioned that in their tab replies. For what it's worth, I don't particularly like Firefox, but I love the Mozilla browser.
