What sandwich was that in the picture. We have some in the Vegas Valley but a new one is opening 10 minuets from my house. I will give it a shot once that location opens up.

I've heard of them but never been to one, I think we have them near here. Never been to Jimmy John's either but have seen them. Never been to a subway, although from what I've seen I'm not missing much. Jersey Mikes and PotBelly are pretty decent. I prefer actual deli's or mom and pops that actually make good sandwiches with good ingredients.

Never heard of them. As far as sub places go, Jersey Mikes and Potbelly's are at the top, followed by Jimmy Johns, with Subway in a distant last.

Jimmy johns sucks, all bread and twice as expensive as subway.

Firehouse gives me the shits every time I eat it. I have no idea why it does that but overall I like their sandwiches. I do actually prefer jersey mike's over firehouse if it's available.

Firehouse is expensive and any cold sub I've had from there just wasn't that great. With that said, I recently tried their Smokehouse Cheddar Brisket sub and it was fantastic. If their bread was better, I'd go there more often.

Publix subs for teh win!

Yup, 10X better than most any subshop you can find, fresh sliced meats, quality baked rolls from scratch, only problem is they've become so popular around here there's always a 3-4 person wait but in the end it's well worth it..

DiBellas is the best. Daily fresh baked bread, no skimping on the meats or anything else. A large is enough for 2 meals. Never had a bad sub from them. Makes other chains look like a joke.

Firehouse Subs is okay. The one reason why I like Subway better is because I usually prefer chicken, and I don't think Firehouse has any chicken sandwiches. Also, I tend to prefer the chicken breast cuts at Subway versus deli style chicken cuts. I do like that Firehouse offers lots of hot sauces though. That reminds me of this one time that I decided to be ballsy and put some Dave's Insanity Sauce on my sub. I was just globbing the stuff onto the sandwich, and my friend gave me a rather weird look while doing it. After taking a few bites, my friend and I were crying -- me from the heat and him from laughing so hard!

Prefer Which Wich.

Hmm we have one of those, but I've never been there. Is there anything in particular that you think makes them better?

Jimmy John's is very good because of the bread. I always get the roast beef and there's not much meat on there, but it still has great flavor all around.

Yes their bread is awesome. I don't understand how someone can say it's bad because there is too much bread and then compare it to Subway, which is ALL bread. Subway isn't cheap either. Sure you can get lucky and have a $5 footlong month with a half decent sandwich, but most of the time any of their decent sandwiches are $6-7. JJ sandwiches are about $6 all the time and so much better. Their roast beef is the best. They get minus points for discontinuing sprouts though.

Also most of the time your sub is finished being made before you even finish paying. You don't have to wait for the lobotomized sandwich artists at Subway to try and cobble a sandwich together for the mouth-breather in front of you who can't figure out what he wants on his sandwich. JJs is just the basics done well.

Agree with this. Italian night sub is my fave, and it's literally 83 seconds from walking in to walking out. Can't beat that.

Lenny's makes their's the same way so I do either one. I find though that Publix is a little more limited in selection which is surprising since it's a grocery store.

As a side note, Firehouse Subs donates a crapload of money to the local fire departments and Emergency Medical Services. They don't advertise this info much. Our department has received a $10k grant from them and it was much needed.... And we can apply/request this every year....

And yes, the cheddar brisket is killer...

because i dont like spending 9 bucks on a sub and get nothing but a paper thin slice of meat and a mouth full of bread, there needs to be a balance of the two. JJ does it because bread is cheap, meat expensive so cut back on meat, charge more for bread = profit. i understand that and why i feel like im getting ripped off.
