Ok, I've got it installed & under my device manager it lists it as enabled & working.

However, when I connect my external hard drive to it the HD is not recognized even under disk management. Weird.

I've got a DV Camcorder I'm going to hook up later will let you know if that's working. Arrrrgghhh... always something.

Ooh, thanks for posting. I feel your pain. I'm still deciding to buy one, so if anyone can post their XPeriences with it, that would be cool.

Any other people can relay their experiences with this card? I might be tempted if i know also it'd work fine with an IPOD. I assume this would be powered (i.e. connecting it to the IPOD will also charge it)? I heard some cards are not powered as such. Thanks.

I bought the card I mentioned in this thread and it works great with my iPod.

I installed the card, it is detected as PCI device under both Windows XP Pro and Windows 2000, but was unable to install the driver for it. Does anybody has faced this problem before?

Ok, had a few issues with it but it's usually the case with this Soyo Dragon+ MB. :disgust:

I had to try a few different PCI Slots till I found one that would work. (I know my MB is weird)! At any rate the Firewire card was autodetected by Widows XP & there were no drivers CD included.

Also my IPOD is finally recognized now that I've found a good PCI Slot on my MB but the IPOD DOES NOT RECHARGE WITH THIS Firewire card.

I've still yet to hook up my DV Camcorder but @ this point am happy with getting it to work!

Seems the NEC Firewire Card listed in this thread may be a better card depending on your MB.

I think they take away the cupon code, but when I check out. The shippig charges appears to be $0. Which means free shipping as well...I guess...

I just order it. It did not required anyshipping code. I selected ground and shipping came 0$. I was about to order cable only for this price. It's worth to try.

i got this too... under network adapters right? you need to disable it. the card shows up under human interface devices also as VIA 1394. leave that enabled. check it.

The syba lucent chipset is a great deal as well..since it lucent chipset and + cable and softwares.
