"tagej is completely correct.
Firewire is Apple's baby. Thus no one really cares."
no the NAME firewire is apples baby. the technology (AFAIK) IEE1394 is not owned by APPLE.
"same company we know and love for all those excellent chips such as the p3 1.13 GHz and the i820"
NFS, does this mean you're evil for feeding Intel money and for making USB (who made USB) more popular? hehe!
that line also reminds me of the Simpsons.. Hi I'm Troy Mcluer (don't know the spelling). You may remember me from such films as...
VladTrishkin
correct, there are multiple drives out there with Firewire support! Yamaha's latest CD Burner for example!
technologically, USB and USB 2.0 is inferior, because it uses more CPU time first of all!
"Do you even use USB devices? I've been using tons of USB devices (actually 7 plugged in as we speak) and am quite happy"
I've had my USB mouse plugged into the USB port. it sucked @ss, becuase I could automatically see that whenever the CPU was busy, the mouse was SLOW.. it also reduced my RC5 speed while I was on the computer, let alone that I couldn't use it in Windows Safe mode. it's more hassle then it's worth.
ahh the keyboard.. to get it working in the BIOS, you need to turn on USB keyboard support! what about Safe mode? (I wouldn't know, never bothered after the mouse incident! good thing it's got a PS/2 adapter).
and Finally, the only thing USB is good for. game devices! YES! or is it? DAH STUPID WINDOWS! it doesn't like my USB game ports (both LOGITECH WINGMAN)!! now I can only have on of them connected at once, through the gameport!
finally, I originally thought that USB would be good for printers however, now that I know that Parallel ports run almost as fast as USB (LOL), and of course they take less CPU time, I'm sticking with that!
