I think you missed part of your quote. Here, let me complete it for you.

The state of PC video quality is also going to change. ATI's Catalyst 5.9 drivers feature a brand-new de-interlacing technology which may address some of the limitations of older ATI products. ATI's AVIVO supports noise reduction with 3rd party TV tuners but it's not yet clear if ATI will be able to implement noise reduction for DVD sources, or better yet HDTV sources. I have not yet had the opportunity to test Catalyst 5.9 myself, so I can't make any comment on how it compares to PureVideo but it warrants a closer look.

Last I checked, you're no mod. Did you have to foolishly think I'd care about you telling me what I can and can't post? LOL

Let me explain it to you Linkgoron:

This is an article about video cards.
This is the video forum.
It's not the article you refer to, so it's not a repost.

You see Linkgoron, sometimes one review site may write a review of a similar topic. For example, every review site reviewed the X1800XT. We don't usually have on thread per topic, we usually have one thread per article.

Does that help you understand the nature of what a "repost" is and isn't Linkgoron? I want to help, if you're still unclear, PM me and I'll try to break it down further.

There's your answer Creig! I didn't put that in because all the reviewer said was "who knows- I'll comment when I've tested it"?

I know ATI is big on paper launches and telling us "it's a comin' and it's gonna be good" but I was only referring to the drivers the reviewer had actually seen.

Hey, look! I can bold things, too!

I'm not trolling, but does PureVideo work in my 6600GT or is that one broken? What software do I need to take advantage of it, as far as playing DVDs. I'm at work and don't have time to search - someone please set me up with the easy answers!

Rollo posted a paragraph from the article plus linked to the article for all to see the entire article. You are mocking it. A mod will see right through this. We all need to tread a little more carefully these days in video, you and I included.

You don't find it amusing that two fanboys (one from each party) can quote the same paragraph and cherry pick (bold) certain lines for their argument. That's gold!

And I then posted a paragraph from the article. It was Rollo who chose to bold certain portions of my quote to show a slant in one direction. I simply bolded other portions to show it can go the other way, too. But you decided to ignore his part.

Stop being lead council on Rollo's Defense Team.

Aside from whether nvidia or ati are *better* that was an interesting article. Didn't realise quite how hard it was to generate a good DVD picture, and gives me a much better idea of why spending more money on DVD players or video cards is for video playback is worth it.

Oh, I'm not a fanboy. I actually find them to be pretty sad. Whenever I see a quote or statement to be taken out of context or to be missing important information I'll include it to make sure people don't get the wrong impression.

Not Really, Rollo included the only determination Iand link the whole thing for use to read. Crieg thought he saw a NVidiot bias and posted a part that Shined ATI in a good light. Rollo reading carefully noted that If the reviewer said they had no idea how it actually turned out, then how do we even know whether it should be considered a shining moment for ATI.

Basically Rollo put Criegs foot into Criegs mouth by actually paying attention to what he read.

I don't see anything bolded in Rollo's first post, and it hasn't been edited. What are you talking about? The only thing bolded is the link to the article. I see bolding iin his second post in which he bolded some words in the quote of Creigs initial taunt post.

Here is the breakdown. Rollo posted article. Creig no likey. Creig sets bait. Creig plays innocent. Very Simple.

No, Rollo cherry picked, Creig rebutted it with another picked out of the same section, Rollo cherry picked the rebuttal, and Creig showed that the same paragraph meant something different with different emphasis. Then you jumped on Creig.

Interesting is that some people have time to login and post from early morning to late night.

During business ours I have to work and can't post.

There were some threads recently that challenged the moderators and there was no reaction. I guess now some guys think they are playing in God Mode and can do whatever they want.

Then stop trying to right every wrong on this forum. If they're going to bitch, let them bitch, you know both Rollo and Crieg are entirely capable of filling page after page of dumb and useless arguments all by thier lonesome, you're not helping it much either by defending Rollo every time he does something wrong and someone calls him out for it

I predict this thread will have atleast 2 pages by next week of incessant, childish arguing

I'm strictly a FS/FT guy now. That will be the limit of my participation at AT forums. This is my last post ever in any forum but FS/FT. You can scoff if you like and call BS. But will be in vain. I'm so done.

You're too uptight, man. Let the fanboys fight it out, Rollo and Creig don't need anyone defending them. Why do you feel that you have to stoop to their level?

Your 6600GT supports accelerated WMV9 decode. It's the 6800/LE/GT/Ultra AGP and PCI-E 6800GT/Ultra that don't.
