Sorry for my ignorance, my computer died a few weeks ago and I replaced a GF2MX with this PCI-E 6600GT - so PureVideo is new to me.

They only things that are broken on the 6800's are 2 or 3 WM9 hardware video stuff, DVD/MPEG2 playback works just fine.
(I don't even own a WM9 video )

But ...but.... Terra....hasn't anyone told you that that only feature that matters on any gaming card ever made is the WMV9 stuff? Whether you own a WMV9 video or not, you might as well throw away your video card if it can't accelerate WMV9. :roll:

I know some fanatics has made a big deal out out this.
I tend to ask them where I can buy any WM) DVd's in my local store...
Besides all the later cards got it working, not that I care though..I mean...WM9?

Nvidia has the upper hand in everything related with hardware video acceleration, perhaps, for the mere fact, that they have had it out for a year, and have been able to work and tweak it to their liking. If other features don't matter, why did you post this thread in the first place? Seems a bit contradictory to me... This is the same attitude I noticed back when NV was behind the 8ball concerned the broken PVP and their refusal to admit the problem even existed.

The best video card is the Great Leader Sublime Renderer with 23 megs of (copied) Hyundai ram. You can buy these from Pyongyang Peoples Silicon Works #23. The rest of you fanboyz are idiots.

I read this thread first, and I'm currently on page9 of the review, where I stopped to comment on the thread before I continue, and hopefully get it back on topic.

So far, I like the review quite a bit. I like how Alan was upfront about relaying his potential bias as well. I thought the primer was an excellent way to get readers up to speed with the test screens and comparisons, and I also like how he layed the groundwork for the review. Much of what he is talking about (in the first 9 pages anyway) are things I've commented on at length myself, and are similar to observations I've had. Its nice to see reviewers that "get it" when it comes to the finer points of video.
