Yeah, IX is out for the PSX and I can't stop playing it! Man, it is so much fun... and the story is the best I've ever read/watched. A great game fo sho.


I wonder why everyone is so down on the PS2 though? Seems like a good system, just not groundbreaking or anything like the PSX was way back when.

I like the Dreamcast better right now, but that's just because it has a TON of AAA titles out, but I certainly relaize the PS2 has some coming out next year that will be great... it's time just hasn't come yet.

BTW... NFL2k1 and NBA2k1 online on the Dreamcast is a hoot!!!! When I'm not playing FF9, I'm playing these two games.

By hunt down a copy I meant calling London Drugs, Future Shop, Circuit City and what not looking for someone that has the game in Stock.

I consider the final fantasies to be money well spent. I own FF2, FF3, FFMQ for SNES, FF7, FF8, FFTactics and Anathologies for PSX. I fully intended to buy FF9. (I know I missed FF1, I don't have a NES)

I'm no hardare engineer, but I find the PS2 to be an interesting experiment in software design. Heck, I might make a great PS2 developer, I'm terrible about bandwidth management.

What was that game, I believe for Playstation, that was a 3D 1v1 fighter, where the characters were non-textured, just shaded polygons. I'd like to see what kind of performance and image quality could be gotten from the PS2 if every 3D model was a massive amount of shaded polys, rather than relying on textures which are memory and bandwidth hogs.

Dang it everybody says FF9 is the BEST of the series. I have both FF7 and FF8 but never had the time to finish either of them! But I LOVED FF1 and that black mage in FF9 look appealing to me. I'm really thinking of buy it now so I can play it over winter break.

Anybody know how to get a PS2 working on a VGA monitor?

I've never liked consoles anyway. I played Star Wars Rogue Squadron on an N64 and it was jerky as hell when circling through the desert in an X-Wing. Any half-decent PC with a half-decent 3D accelerator could do a much better job.

Do you think Final Fantasy 10 will be available for PC? Honestly..the only games I own for my PSX are Crash Bandicoot (came with the thing) and a stack of FF Games...I'm not sure if it's worth buying a PSX2 just for FF games if they are going to be on PC as well.

yes, ff7 and 8 are out on pc. They get better at translating to pc with every release, so no real point to buying a ps2. Its inferior hardware.

Release dates should get closer too, i think they are working on the pc ver of 10 at the same time

Yeah, I like FF9, so far even though I can't save my game as I don't have any memory cards w/me. I never did actually finish FF8 either, I got bored and stopped playing on disc 2. My favorite FF is FF6 (FF3 on the SNES) w/FF4 (FF2 on the SNES) coming in second.
