I'd like to get some Airsoft guns as well! I'd like to get an electric M4 automatic rifle and a 9mm Beretta semi-auto pistol replica, but I'm not sure which reasonably priced brand names are the best.

Can anyone offer up some suggestions?

That's about as vague as 'buy a car'

UHC MP5SD3 is a good/cheap starter gun, if you want a spring gun...for electric, you'll want to spend a lot more than $60.00.

If the guys playing against you are using straws & mouthfuls of BBs, sure.

All of my (airsoft) long guns are Tokyo Marui, though I've heard good things about Echo 1 and JG.

I have one of these as well - I'd definitely take this over your typical $20 electric gun. Granted, it's a bit more than $20.

Hey guys

Seeing as it's so hard to get an actual gun here in the UK, I've been thinking of going the Airsoft route, for general plinking and stuff.

Is anyone familiar with this gun? Is it any good? I've also been looking at this one too. I've been thinking of getting a 'springer' too, such as this.

Between the 2 gas powered guns, which would you guys pick? Which is the better option, between gas (eg 134a) and CO2?

Unfortunately, you're just not going to find a decent gun in that price range. At the very minimum, you're going to have to drop around $250 minimum to get something that won't break in a few days. I've played a lot of airsoft in the years past and may I humbly suggest the Classic Army M15 or the Tokyo Marui G36. Both are excellent guns.

Get a .22 rifle or something.

I think that your buddies would get a wee bit upset if I shot them with a .22 while playing wargames.

Why would you shoot anyone with an airsoft gun? Seems dumb to me.

Why would you shoot someone with a paintball gun? With laser tag guns?

Because people like to act like they are shooting each other.

Airsoft guns are alot more dangerous than paintball or laser tag guns. They are actually capable of breaking the skin. Not to mention that if a BB hits your eye, you are 80% more likely to lose it than if a paintball hit it.

I've had my fair share of BB gun fights, and once you get it a couple of times, you realize its the stupidest thing to play. not enough fun for the pain return.

You should go to your local shop and test some guns out. Try the UHC and then try the Tokyo Marui's or CA's. You will clearly see the difference. If this is to shoot cans in the backyard, any $60 gun will do.

Well if you are doing that then you should be wearing eye protection. Same with paintball. A paintball in the eye ain't just gonna wash out and be fine.

Still though I think it's pretty dumb to shoot each other with airsoft guns.
