Any type of microbrewery Wheat ale

I second that. Sam Adams Summer Ale (seasonal) is very good....almost a wheat beer.
Try anything local microbrews they tend to be the best!

If you go to a 'good beer bar', just tell the bartender that you've never had a beer before. They will probably jump up and down with excitement and start handing you samples...

Beers are at least as diverse as wine, if not more so. Just keep trying samples till you find one you like.

The Belgians are a good choice...
personally I would
1)stick to ales
2)avoid wheat, flavored, or very dark beers

You might REALLY like wheat beers though, many people do. I jsut think there's a huge variety of stellar beers you can try before you get into wheats...

Drink the worst kind of beer/cheapest beer you can find, prefferably a miller light. Then find the best beer you can find.

I'm not that big a fan of IPAs but man DFH90 is a damned good one. Anyway, my suggestion, either Great Lakes Barrel Aged Blackout Stout or Alesmith's Barrel Aged Speedway Stout. Tar in a bottle, but man is it good.

This is really a tough question... A lot of people that have never had beer do not like the taste of it. For some it is an aquired taste. That said, I have aquired quite a taste for it! I am not a beer snob and have partaken in a plethora of types and brands of beer. I would say that a good quility light beer might be the way to start, like an Amstel. Heineken might be a little skunky for a first timer. Maybe even a Labatts Blue light or a Corona with lime. You can't go wrong with that. Stay away from bitter or hoppy beers until you have developed a taste for them. Sam Adams might be ok for a medium beer. If you insist on a malt liquor get a 40 of Mickeys. You can't beat an ice cold Mickeys (for a malt liquor that is).

I would set up 6 beers and have them try all of them. I'm a fan of Stella, Heine, Presidente, Pilsner Urquell, Keith's and lately I have been trying a new beer only available by Budweiser that is actually quite tasty. Its called summer something and its got a light orange taste to it and its amazing.

I still love my Smithwick's and Bass Ale.

Labatt Blue is ok from time to time.

Personally when I'm feeling adventerous I'll head over to canada find the most obscure bar in Windsor that sells a ton of European imports and just start buying them by the pint.....and of course have a friend to drive me home....

Fat Tire is among the most drinkable of the more mainstream types.

Personally, I'm a dark man. Rogue Shakespeare Stout FTW!!!

Good call, I love Rogue, particularly the Shakespeare and Saint Rogue Red.

Who makes a $13 30 pack? I know of Milwakee's Best at $8 a 24, but no 30-$13

Miller High Life is $13 for 30 cans around here.

Birra Moretti
Franziskaner
Boddington's Pub Ale
Fat Tire

My personal favorite has always been Caffrey's Irish Ale, but they don't import that into the states anymore.

I have not drank/drunk/drinked/whatever alcohol my whole life (of 22.75) years until a couple weekends ago when I ventured out of my shell and tried a few various drinks including my first beer. My experience...

First beer ever tasted = Bud light...... Nasty to a non-alcoholic it tasted like stale carbonated water with an aftertaste of yeast.... I'll stick to root beer thanks.

Second beer = Bud Select..... This one actually had some flavor and was admittedly better than the Bud light crap, but I'm still not a fan. The aftertaste is a little more pleasant but still yeasty...

(Yes I know those are piss poor examples of beer in general.... My friends all tell me that German beer is awesome... So I'd find a good bar that serves big ass mugs of German Beer and Give that a whirl. Don't give your beer virginity away to Bud light.

I guess I'll remain a non-drinker... The only beverage I found I kind of enjoyed was Rum and Coke which is not bad at all. But all in all, just pass me a Red Bull and I'll be happy.

Happy and sober, plus according to my research in the field of comercials, you'll never get a girl or three that are perfect looking if you choose that red bull over the beer, although you may fly.

I cant remember what I started on, but some crap like bud or miller lite. After drinking myself sick I could no longer drink beer, ever. Then i discovered Woodchuck hard cider. If I had to say its about half way between cheerleader beer and bud/mil lite. Its not really sweet but it does not taste like poo. After drinking that for awhile I was able to get myself back on regular beer and now I can drink about anything.

If you're drinking beer for the first time...

you need to get a beerbong, and just down 2-3.

I HATED beer the first few times I had it, but then it's been a love affair ever since.

I would try and find an nice irish pub...well any bar with a good selection and knowledgable bartenders...as others have said, tell them you're new to drinking...

I'm sure they'll give you samples of everything they have on tap. Find something that pleases you right off the bat and go from there!

But yah, I don't think I've ever found anyone who's liked beer the first time.
