Have you taken the MSF course and gotten your motorcycle endorsement yet? Or at least your permit?

Yup, passed MSF and have endorsement. Road it home, was fun but also kinda scary doing 60mph at 10pm on a country 2 lane highway. Much more fun when we got back into the city. I'll post some pics in the morning. This thing isn't like a Harley at all. Even my buddy who hates harley is digging it.

It was cold tonight. In glad I brought my full helmet and gloves.

It will be interesting to see how Harley fans take to this new bike. (I've seen bagger guys get into it with chopper guys over what constitutes a real Harley.)

It's their world bike, and I wish them well. But it will take me some time to get used to that tank design. A new XR750 series may be in the works. Knowing I'm not their target audience, something with a traditional sporty tank piques my interest.
Then again, that new tank probably has more than a 100 mile range.

Congrats, and be safe.

It has a radiator so I doubt it will be received with much enthusiasm. Harley needed a decent entry level type bike though and they haven't had one since the Buell Blast.

They guys last night at the dealership (shoppers not staff) where really friendly. They seemed to like it, but most commented it was 'too small'.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't buy a Harley otherwise. This bike is smooth, quiet, and sized in a way I don't find intimidating. It's also got some good get up and go.

I think this is exactly what Harley was shooting for. Harley enough to be Harley, but modern enough to meet the expectations of a much larger portion of the world's population.

The Harley faithful won't like it. Liquid cooled, short stroke overhead cam engine doesn't work for many of them. A lot of die hard Harley guys still hate the V-Rod for all those reasons, and it's been around since 02.

I'll be very interested to see how much horsepower they'el be able to wring out out of that engine. As I understand it, it's the same basic design as the Revolution.
