I would not recommend a wireless mouse for gaming, it's not as reliable and responsive as wired. Wireless is more useful if you need to carry it around, e.g. for a laptop.

It's also useful if you game in a theater room and don't want cords everywhere. My G700s is wireless and the responsiveness is on par with any wired mouse I've used. Just leave the polling rate at 1000Hz and it's more than enough. Good range too. No issues with reliability. If the battery runs low you can either run it wired or swap the battery. Usually a charge lasts a whole day of steady gaming. More if you don't need the max polling rate.

Oh yeah, G700s is definitely a high performance mouse. I was thinking of wireless mice you get in cheap bundles - don't really see how the OP could fit a $95 G700s into his budget.

For the mouse, ok i will take the bundle that you propose me.

Also for the case, I like the Antec, but if possible I would like t have something like the NZXT Phantom series, but unfortunately the one that cost 80$ has a small incompatibility with my build.

Finally for the price, could you post me a link of NCIX with everything and with the price of 1514$ because I cant see where I made an error.

You shouldn't expect the cart price to line up exactly with the PCPartPicker price for a couple of reasons:

- Part prices change often: daily or even hourly. The PCPartPicker prices in the post are only accurate at the time the post was made. For example, the GTX 970 has changed in price by $10.
- PCPartPicker assumes that you will do the rebates and enter the promo codes that it references in order to get the discount associated with those items

The fact that your cart price differs by <$10 is actually quite good.

The EVGA 650GS seems to be the main culprit there. At the time I posted it was $100 after rebate according to PCPartPicker, but now it's $140.30 with no rebate, it seems. Change the power supply to one of
EVGA 750W B2 $105 ($75 AR) (5-10 days)
EVGA 550 GS $100 ($80 AR) (4-8 days)
Antec EA-550 Green $89 ($74 AR) (1-2 days)

The first one is easily the best value. The second one is good if you want to optimize your power consumption, it has Gold rated efficiency and is appropriately sized for a single GPU setup. And the last one seems to ship the soonest, but compared to EVGA 550 GS, it has a couple of downsides: 2 years shorter warranty, lower efficiency, and cables are not modular. But it's just as reliable and a little cheaper.

Now all you have left to do is to pick a case. Almost there!

Ok thank you i will check that.

Finally, for the case could you suggest me some, I like futuristic style like what is doing NZXT, but most of their cases are overpriced.

I have found a few cases that I like, but I'm if all of have enough space and overall are they good?

http://www.ncix.com/detail/thermaltake-urban-r31-window-atx-4f-95135.htm

http://www.ncix.com/detail/nzxt-phantom-410-atx-steel-a6-66838.htm

The last one is probably my favorite, but when I choose it in pcpartpicker, it mentionnes this :The NZXT Phantom 410 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 305mm long, but video cards over 230mm may block drive bays. Since the Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card is 280mm long, some drive bays may not be usable.

Both are good cases, just a tad pricey. On Phantom 410, there are two drive cages, and the upper cage is removable to allow long video cards. In the default configuration, there's 305mm space for the graphics card, which is enough for a 280mm long Asus Strix. So I'm not quite sure what pcpartpicker is on about there. The upper drive cage would get in the way only if you tilted it 90 degrees.

If you do remove the upper cage (e.g. to improve airflow to the graphics card), that leaves only two drive bays in the lower cage which is just enough for one SSD and one data drive.

Looking at what's listed on NCIX, I found this: Anidees AI6 $80 (on sale!) - IMO this is a fantastic looking case (though not everybody likes the brushed aluminum look). It's also absolutely packed with features. Check out TPU's summary.

Some even more affordable options:

Mach II $50 - for those who like LEDs
Antec P70 $55 AR (reminds me of the monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey!)
Thermaltake Core V31 $61 AR - if you particularly want a windowed case
In Win 703 $68 - another awesome windowed case, it got Editor's Choice award from TPU!
Bitfenix Shinobi Window $70 - another decent all-rounder

All of these can easily fit the Asus Strix.

You suggested me some very good cases, I specially like the Mach II and the Anidees but I think I will still go with the NZXT Phantom 410, their is something special that I like about this one.

So, I thinks, I've finished my pc build with a lot of your help , I just have one last question, how work the mail rebate with NCIX because I think I can have a return of about 80$ with them? I just have to print them and sent them to NCIX?

The mail in rebates are through the manufacturers. The way it works is that there is a rebate form posted on the NCIX product page which includes instructions. You should download the form when you order the parts.

Then when the parts arrive, follow the instructions to submit the rebate. The exact process differs by manufacturer, but the general idea is that you mail then the completed form along with an invoice and a UPC code to prove that you bought the item. Then they send you a check or prepaid card.

So, all my parts will soon be shipped by ncix, but the motherboard is marked as backorder. I will call them tomorrow to see when it will be available, but if it takes too long (I want it by next week), I will maybe ask them to change with another motherboard. Do you have any similar to the

ASRock H97 Anniversary LGA1150 6XSATA3 6XUSB3.0+6XUSB2.0 HDMI/DVI-D 5.1 CH HD Au

Thanks

The Gigabyte H97M-HD3 for $110 is a pretty reasonable substitute for that board.

I think i will take this one Lehtv, but on pcpartpicker I have a little note about this motherboard : Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. I dont quite understand what that means.

Haswell Refresh CPUs were released along with H97 and Z97 chipsets, and the older H81, B85, H87 and Z87 chipset boards required a BIOS update (which is basically a new version of the motherboard's firmware) to be compatible with those processors. Technically, pcpartpicker is correct to warn about incompatibility but in practice, H81 and B85 motherboards have Refresh compatible BIOS versions factory installed. The incompatibility warning applies mostly to
(A) really old stock, but in a big store like NCIX you can be sure the motherboard is from a relatively fresh batch with BIOS pre-updated, or
(B) H87 or Z87 chipsets which were replaced by H97 and Z97, and as such are less likely to be from a fresh batch than H81 and B85 which have not yet been replaced by newer chipsets.

And by fresh batch I mean something like 12 months fresh, so not even that recent. Chances are the board came out of factory only a few weeks to 1-2 months ago.

Hi,

I will receive the last parts of my pc next week and I have some questions before beginning the building.

1. I saw that be quiet Pure Rock (CPU cooler) has already some thermal paste applied, but should I bought some and put a little more?

2. Do I have anything more to buy, like cables, or everything should be include with the principal parts?

3. Do you have some tutorials (English or French) to recommend to help me trough my build.

4. Anything else I should know before beginning?

Thank you

1. The pre-applied paste should be absolutely fine unless you smudge it before installing it. In case you need to apply paste yourself, you can clean off the pre-applied paste with >90% IPA and a non-linting cloth, let it dry, then apply a small pea sized droplet (on the CPU or the cooler, either is fine) of the good 'ol MX-2.

2. the motherboard comes with two SATA cables... you may have to buy a third one for the DVD drive :|. Everything else is included

3&4. http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-build-a-gaming-pc-a-beginners-guide/ covers the hardware installation. When you power on the first time, go to BIOS (press DEL), check that SATA is in AHCI mode, set memory settings to 1600mhz 1.5V with timings 9-9-9-27 if they aren't already, and check that the temperatures look good (particularly the CPU).

In the BIOS Features tab, you can set your boot priority the way you want it. I'd put SSD first, then DVD then HDD; when you install the OS it'll boot to DVD because there's nothing on the SSD yet, and when you've done installing the OS, it'll boot straight into the installed OS because the SSD has boot priority.

In the same tab, enable Fast Boot and disable Full Screen Logo for a faster pc startup.

Then F10, boot to DVD and install the OS
