Are those OC vs. OC numbers?

No, the numbers I presented were stock gtx560ti and hd7970 scores. Grover said it was "sweet dreams" to think a gtx680 can double up on a gtx560ti. So I showed Anand's gtx560ti benchmarks compared to an hd7970's benchmarks, and how doubling a gtx560ti isn't out of the realm of entirely possible for a gtx680.

You are right, it doesn't have any credible benchmarks. But common sense can be a pretty cool thing to embrace sometimes. You don't think a gtx680 will get 32 fps in Crysis Warhead at 2560x1600? Or 52fps in Batman AC? Or 40fps in Metro2033? The hd7970 is twice as fast as gtx560ti in Crysis Warhead, and 80% faster in Metro2033.... Do you think the gtx680 will be slower than the hd7970?

For my new comp, I purposely went with a $70 cheap and used temp card to get by until Kepler (hopefully) starts a price war. I need that 7950 in the < $400 range or an equivalent NV part (660?)

Was hoping for early summer but I may be looking at August when the 7950 finally gets it's opponent. Feels like there are plenty of folks like me, sitting on ~500W PS's and sub $400 budgets and waiting for high end to depreciate.

Wow three replies now and you still can't argue the data I provided or even discuss it. It could have been as simple as yes or no replies to what I showed. Instead you give 3 straight deflections and now you're even mixing in round-about personal attacks! I guess normal, intelligent discussions are entirely out of the question with you. That would give the GK104 about four months soaking up huge profits, Nvidia won't be happy until BigK hits even if their mid ranged die beats AMD's best, neither will many of us.

It can't ruin a product that was intended to replace a $250 part.


Looks like AMD woefully over estimated their products or assumed Nvidia was going to be 6 months late, with another GF100 type card they could bank on initial reviews tainting an otherwise great product.

Probably 4 months, since that's roughly how long it took for A3 silicon of GF100 (Fermi) from tape-out to product release, IIRC.. Could be 3-6 months, but everything CharLIE says should be taken with lots of salt.

What I'd really like to see at the very least, and hopefully the GK104 launch will provide it... Is confirmation that GK100/110/112 whatever you want to call BigK is actually coming.

What about you? Are you using your avatar as a disguise? Do you think GTX 680 would be wonderful? I know it's small and hardly worth $550 (not sure), but it's still refreshing to see NV trailing behind AMD by only 2.5 months now, unlike 6 months during the start of the 40nm round.
