I have a 46" LCD (Samsung LNT4661F) and I am thinking buffing up my sound. I know next to nothing about audio equipment so I am hoping you guys can recommend some parts to me.

I bought 2 X JBL Balboa 30 for loudspeakers. I got them for $70 each at Frys. My friend also bought 2 and said I go buy his from him if I want. Should I buy his and use them as rear speakers?

I am thinking about getting this receiver because it seems like a good deal

I can get the Balboa center channel from buy.com for $58. If I use rear speakers I should probably get a center channel correct?

I have no idea on what sub to get, I think I might hold off on that.

Any comments or changes on my setup?

I can't speak about the 516 directly but I did own an 815 before and it was a fantastic unit for the price. The center channel is used with the fronts in a 5.1 setup and it is probably the single most important speaker if you are into movies as it carries almost all of the dialog. Go with the center that matches your fronts which i assume is the Balboa you mentioned. You can get a second center channel and stick it with the rears to make a 6.1 setup or an additional two rear channels to make a 7.1 setup.

The other option is to of course by piecemeal if money is an issue. Get the best 2.0 or 2.1 system you can afford and then add to it as your budget recharges to fill out the 5.1 system.

That would be my recommendation

Budget?

avsforum.com FTW! They will ask budget, don't come off like a clown and claim budget doesn't matter unless you want a $500k system recommended to you.
