Enjoy, post screenshots, impressions and benchmarks.

DX10 - http://files.filefront.com/Lost+Planet+...n+Demo+++DX+10/;7517404;/fileinfo.html

DX9 - http://files.filefront.com/Lost+Planet+...on+Demo+++DX+9/;7517543;/fileinfo.html

EDIT:

FOR ALL NVIDIA XP USERS:

I found a solution to crashes some people may be having. Seems that there are some unreleased 160.02 drivers floating around, I tried them, and VOILA, the game has no crashing issues anymore! It even runs a bit faster

Under the DX9 version, I get 63 FPS average in the snow level, 35 FPS in the cave, at 1280x720 with everything in-game cranked as high as it can go.

It is quite a good-looking game, btw. I especially love the animations of the bugs and their design.

I'm having problems too. It says it can't find "d3dx10_33.dll." I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit and EVGA 8800gts 640mb with the latest drivers.

Problem Solved

Found a solution if anybody is running into this too. Go to This Site and download the d3dx10_33.dll file and extract it to the C:Windows/System folder (if your running 64 bit, put it in the Systems folder NOT the Systems32 folder. The site also contains the d3dx9_33.dll for those running directx 9.

yewza, this seems to make supreme commander look like grease lighting in th fps department even in DX9.

at 1920x1200 on two x1900 crossfire and a 6700 dual core shes a crawling. i see it has some setting for multi gpu in the setup so perhaps its more driver conflict than anything, im seeing allot of blooming but the textures do look amazing, definitely a very pretty game.

Sorry bro. You cant play DX10 games with any DX9 cards. Youll need an 8xxx series Nvidia for 2000 series ATI card for the DX10 version.

This is false. You can play DX10 games, with a DX9 card. Just without the DX10 effects.

Demo working fine for me. Vista Ultimate x32, and X1900XT here. Ill try my WinXp x64 tomorrow, see how it works, and the performance difference. Dual boot, so comparisons are easy.

What I was trying to say is that you cannot play a DX10 game on a DX9 card. Youre just adding the fact that if the DX10 game has a DX9 version then of course it can be played on a DX9 card. DX10 only software doesnt work on DX9 hardware though.

It's nice-looking I agree. I can't quite describe it though, but there is some sort of different approach to graphics with these newer, x-box styled games. The actual textures and such are not particularly sharp, but it's sort of glossed over with other effects. Kind of weird but not bad. game isn't that interesting itself though IMO

Something Is surely wrong .. Under Vista Ultimate with 8800gtx and 158.43 I get average of 18-22fps @1600x1200 ALL ON except AA.. But I don't think AA is the problem here..
Tried lowering the resolution to 1280x960 but I gained 3-4 fps max.. Can anyone give results from the d3d10 demo?

3 problems I see with DX10 games and patched games out there

1) bad drivers thus far
2) ineffecient DX10 code in said game
3) Current hardware may not handle DX10 calls and code as well as you may expect (this one is a guess)

I agree, this game receiver alot of hype and press when it released on Xbox360 but I thought it was pretty bland and uninteresting. Also, this supposed DX10 game looks the same as it did in HD on my 360 (maybe a bit less jagged edges etc).

Dunno.. DX9 performance looks really good thus far..
It seems that shadows set to high instead of default are likely killing performance in the D3D10 version.. I'll test even further for other possible issues....
But if someone can give some feedback with everything set to high and 0AA/16xAF it would be good to see.. Resolution 1280x960 or 1600x1200 it doesn't change much only 3-4 fps..
