First pic for my very first site design! (updated)

Well, an old buddy of mine just invited me to create an Asheron's Call 2 site with him, and since i recently began getting into Photoshop on a semi-professional level, i decided to take this opportunity to put my new skills to use. So in addition to being the co-founder, i am now our designer. Don't have much finished right now, apart from a layout sketch, a few textures, and a "Coming Soon" image. Of all those things, the image is the only one i can show off, so let me know what you think! The final site design will be somewhat like it - mostly rusted steel and wood, maybe some stone if i find a place for it.

The site is 1.1MB with no load screen so you have to wait on it. It has all the pictures I am going to use for the second half of the animations so that explains the huge size.

Hehehe, you should have said "what do you think of my picture"

I like it but it is a little dark, hard to read. Try to get the letters a bit lighter and it would stand out much more. I suck at making that rust look.

The picture looks alright, but was a waste of time, no one cares that your site is coming soon. they'll care when it's actually there.

"coming soon" is about as good as "Apache Server test Page" or whatever that page says.

It does look pretty decent, though.

What counts as "semi-professional" photoshop work? Do you get semi-paid?

Nice, keep going...the end result will be great I'm sure. It always feels good to have a nice sense of accomplishment when you see the final product.

Well i was extremely bored once again, so i decided to update the image. Enchanced the texture using unsharp mask and added some lighting effects to it. Also made it a bit larger. Looks a lot better now if you ask me. Yeah i know it's a waste since it will only be up there for a couple of times, but making it was fun.
