FIRST POST. P3 933EB with a Slot 1 adapter not working HELP please everyone this is getting me upset -( [in]

Ok i am trying to upgrade to a new PIII 933.

i just bought a P3 933 EB FLIPCHIP for £300
i got a adapter to make it fit into SLOT 1. I have a 6 month old Supermicro PIIISCD motherboard. So i changed my old P2 400 Slot 1 and flitted my new P3 933 EB. When i turn on i get NOTHING. Only my drive lights flicker, i can open my cd/dvd drives by the button on the drives, but i do not even get a bios screen. Nor does my monitor ( which always turns on auto. with biOs screen on power on ) My Hard Disk goes round a few times then that`s it. FUNNY thing is that i do not even get any BIOS/MOTHERBOARD error beeps. The fan is turning on the new chip, everything seems fine, but there is no response.
IF.. i change back to the old processor, then everything is OK again, and this is how i managed to type this message. SO.. this proves that everythig inside the comp is ok. I even updated to the latest BIOS !! Yes i cleared the CMOS

The processor Adapter says PGA370 BETA on the white plastic case that surrounds the processor and on the front left of the golden/bronse board it says REV 1.1

EVEN if the processor was damaged or not inserted correct then i would surely get ERROR BEEPS. or would i if it ws just damaged ?

DO some motherboards not allow FLIPCHIP to be put into slot 1 adapters or... WHAT is going on. I am a very technically minded guy when it comes to things like this but this has got me by the balls. i cannot afford this (((

That is your problem..you need a FC-PGA compatible adapter. Don't go cheap on that. Get an MSI 6905 Master, Iwill III, or Asus. They must be Coppermine compatible. A regular ppga slotket will give you your current result.. nothing.

Also, not a bad idea to go in for a bios update to be sure your motherboard supports your new cpu.

you've checked everything but the bus speed your p933 runs at, 133mhz not 100 mhz like your 400. so your memory probably won't support it and either might your motherboard. have yu rset your bios and also have you tried the chip in another machine, might be a dead chip

did you say you had the latest bios update???

It's not gonna post with a PGA slotket. He needs one for FC-PGA.
