Oh I didnt know a 300WHP civic was slow, silly me

Yup because the aerodynamics of the econobox really suit 150mph+ speeds where hood pins are needed.

The Shelby GT500 has a drag coefficient of ~.38. The Civic has a drag coefficient of ~.31.

Not the SS, and show me a civic going 160mph and I'll agree.

What are those white things with pipes on the hood... Life support system?

hood pins... good for keeping the hood closed.

seriously? I don't think I ever saw that on a car before...

Ehh sorry, I don't like the GT500 or the super snake. Too damn heavy for what it is. Also I bet those hood pins are just rice addons.

Except the hood pins are functional and are to keep the hood from flipping up at high speeds just like the old muscle cars. Are they really necessary? No, but they function and look great in keeping with the whole style IMO, and certainly are not ricey.

So they arnt ricey on a civic with 300whp with a body kit???
If it's a 1900 lb Civic that has 300+WHP and has a 5 oz carbon fiber hood and a big gaping hole in the front end for air flow to the intercooler and the engine bay, than no, hood pins aren't ricey, they are necessary if its going to see the freeway.

At the very least, if not to keep it from flying off, it gives a solid mounting point at both corners instead of just the center latch where the flimsy thin hood would flex and pivot or the corners would be flapping around against the fender.

But the lime green paint with orange flames, the 18 foot wing on the trunk lid, and the altezzas, are still ricey. There is such a thing as fast rice. I would call my Cobra rice if I saw someone with a aftermarket body kit on one. *shudder*

But you rarely see it, anybody I see running a fast Civic is running a turbo B18 with a GSR head in a EG6 hatch with no ricer mods. The only way to tell is the visible intercooler from the front and the squealing tires.

Oh that reminds me, I saw what looked like a red '03 Cobra, emblems, hood, front and rear facia, dual exhaust, the works. But it had the flared out rocker panels that Cobras don't have and had a big chrome "3.8 V6" on the rear where the SVT emblem would have been, not to mention Altezzas, a Cobra R wing, etc. Sad thing is, thats not even a OE emblem on a V6 mustang... I hear it take off, and just start laughing. V6 confirmed, but either way: RICE!!!!

What hurt after the fact was realizing there is a poor '03 Terminator out there somewhere missing a few things...

BTW, whats the drag coeff. on the SS? 99.9% sure it still isn't less than the civic.
