First Snow...

i love snow...but the wind is a bit too much. i love chicago winters. i miss being back in high school when they would cancel classes for snow. now in college you paid for it so you might as well show up. anyone else love snow?

First snow here today too. Only flurries though, nothing is really sticking. And now it's getting icy out.
I love snow if it's not windy I don't like ice though.

I do. Nothing beats the feeling when you first look outside and see everything covered, or even better when you first go outside.

What sucks is that I am always expected to make it to work since I have a 4x4 truck. I am discriminated against in a way.

i had to go outside and catch a snowflake on my tongue...all the people around me thought i was crazy but i had to. i caught one on my tongue so winter has officially started. Everyone go outside and catch a snowflake on your tongue if its snowing there. winter doesn't start unless you do that.

Our first snow in NH was October 10th. :disgust:

It wasn't "cool". It wasn't "neat". It was a plague, a punishment from God for something I've done. I absolutely hate winter...I think one of life's great injustices is that God allows bears to hibernate. Think about it. Bears are the ones with the nice fur coats. It pi**es me off. I want to sleep all winter! Let the bears drag their sorry a**es out of the cave every morning to shovel another 6 inches of snow off the car so they can risk death on a slippery highway to make it to work an hour late and get yelled at by the boss just to get up and do it all again in an effort to eek out a living to pay the million dollars it costs to heat the house in the sub zero temperatures. They've slept for years...it's our turn. I say we organize a H.F.H. movement (Humans For Hibernation).

I wish I live in the place where it snows now.
Here in AZ the weather is mild, it's good, but I miss the snow.
Fortunately I can drive to to Flagstaff and enjoy the snow there.

No snow here but lots of rain. My Wife is from Souix Falls, South Dakota and about 3 years ago we went to her Moms for Christmas and it was great. We woke up at 8am and it snowed all day long till we went to bed at 11pm. It was one of the few days that I have seen it snow all day long on a Christmas.

We bought a car while we were there(Moms boyfriend is a wholeseller) and the drive home was a little bit of a pain going through Montana and we got stuck in Moses Lake, Wa. for 3 days while they cleared an avalanche off the last pass we had to go over to get home.

I bought my Xterra so I wouldn't have to worry about it, so I can't wait to test it out!

But really, it's just so peaceful while it's snowing, watching it fall, very quiet and peaceful.

Especially being around a few friends with some heinikin or sake.

We probably wont get any snow till December .. if even then ... last January we got 24 inches all at one time ... unheard of for here .. so we may go a couple of years with very little snow .. I have an all wheel drive Explorer so lucky we weren't stuck inside last year like most people. The coolest thing from the snow storm of last year is that when we didnt have power for 13 hours e_mc_2 pulled the grill up on to the frint porch and grilled cheeseburgers and hotdogs and potatoes while the snow was coming down ... was awesome ... we even got it on video.

We saw our first snow flurries the first week of October this year, but this morning was the first that any of it stuck.

It pisses me off. If it's going to snow, THEN SNOW DAMNIT!!!

Dump on us, measure it in feet!

These kind of people live their whole lives in the midwest, but every year they forget how they should drive when the snow starts to fly.
