Your motherboard will come with SATA cables your PSU has all the power your GPU MAY come with PCI power adapters (not needed if your PSU already has the right type of connection) and everything else should be fine.

Only thing you might consider picking up would be some case fan's if you want more air flow.

The UD3 seems to come with 4 SATA ports, so you should be set. The only other detachable cables that you should need are the external ones (power, video, etc.) though the PSU should come with a power cord.

I'm a little nervous about flashing the bios on a gigabyte board and setting up the ssd

The UD3 has dual BIOS so if you manage to mess up just flip the switch

The SSD is easy as well. Just turn on AHCI in the BIOS and let the Windows 7 installer handle the alignment issues.

Wow, that's a pretty big jump from the GTX 460 SE you originally considered. A 5870 for $200 is an awesome deal.

I went to Microcenter today and picked up the antec 300 case, Gigabyte UD3P (there's a story to that), 2500K cpu, samsung hdd, cooler master sickleflow 120 case fan to be installed at the front of the case for intake air
(might add one more in the front?), Antec Formula 5 Silver Thermal Compound and also picked up a Hyper 212 Plus.

I'm starting to think that maybe i should not have purchased the Hyper 212 Plus and just go with the stock hsf ?

Newegg shipped out the remainder of my build this morning at 11:30, so probably won't arrive until Monday.

Why do you say that? It is a good cooler, but perhaps unnecessary for this build.

Yea, thats what i mean, it's probably unnecessary for my build.
It does make the stock one look like a dwarf though.

That's true. You talked me into it, i guess i'll use it and keep the stock one as a spare.

While waiting for the rest of my components (SSD, memory, psu, dvd, gpu and win7) to be delivered on Monday I started looking thru the motherboard manual (Gigabyte P67A-UD3P) and the booklet for the Antec 300 case and have a couple of questions.

1) The case has 2 preinstalled fans each with a 3 speed switch.
I take it that they get connected directly to the psu, correct? (corsair 650TX)
If so, can i plug both fans together and then plug as one into the psu?
or should each fan plug in separately?

2) I purchased an additional fan for the front of the case it is 3 pin but not exactly sure which pin header to use.

The mobo manual shows:
Sys_Fan1 (3 pin)
Pin 1 GND
Pin 2 +12V
Pin 3 Sense

Sys_Fan2 (4 pin)
Pin 1 GND
Pin 2 +12V/Speed Control
Pin 3 Sense
Pin 4 Reserve

Common sense would be to use Sys_Fan1 pin header but, would i be able to controll the speed of the fan?
or, can i connect the 3 pin on the fan to Sys_Fan2 and be able to control fan speed with that?

I know this might sound dumb to you guys but i'm a TOTAL newb to this stuff.

Maybe i'll return the fan and get a 4 pin and have the ability to control the speed.
The salesman at MC handed me that one, i should've paid more attention to it.

I use Newegg for my fans even though MC is closer newegg has a much wider selection. I try to get fans with 65CFM or better. (and a low dBa is good too)

My ASUS board didn't include one...and I don't remember getting one with boards for years...

My CoolerMaster HAF 932 case DID include one in the "misc. parts" box however.

OP, YES, spend the $2-$3 to buy one. It makes troubleshooting a bit easier.
