Hi guys, I am a first time builder looking to build a pc to game with. I'm also looking to overclock whatever I can, and would probably need assistance with it. The games im looking to play are probably call of duty 4, starcraft2, and maybe team fortress2. So here is my build so far, im trying to find the cheapest prices on items, but also parts that will not be obselete for a while. I am trying to finish the build before winterbreak comes so I have something to do while at home. Any suggestions will be gladly recieved:
Things already Purchased:
Antec 900 : $100 - $25 rebate from frys.
Abit Ip35 Pro : $170 - 20% paypal - $30 rebate.
Core2Quad Q6600: ~ $150 from a friend.
Samsung 24" 245BW monitor : $500 - 170 rebates.
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500gb : 134.
Logitech G7 - $60 - $25 rebates.
Things considering:
Logitech G15, preferably the original one so its cheaper.
MSI GeForce 8800GT - cheap @ dell.com right now ~ $210.
OCZ GamerXStream 700w ~ $100 waiting for price to drop.
Crucial Ballistix Tracers 2 gigs, ddr2 800 pc6400 ~ 60 waiting for price to drop
Total right now is roughly estimated to be around - $835
Total with everything im considering is : $1250
Is there anything I should change, anything that I should upgrade or downgrade or any advice in general (when prices for items usually drop).
