PLEASE when you POST threads asking for input on system builds tell us...
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. HTPC
2. What YOUR budget is. Less than 500 dollars with shipping.
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from. I will be purchasing most parts from Amazon. Shipping to an overseas FPO box from Newegg and tigerdirect is pretty expensive so it would have to be an amazing deal.
4. IF YOU have a brand preference. No brand preference.
5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are. All new parts.
8. What resolution will you be using? 1920 x 1080
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Within the next two to three weeks
X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software? I intend to use Linux for this system. I have always been a windows user but want to give Linux a real shot on this one. Any advice on which Linux Build to use would be nice?
So this is what I came up with after reading Assassins guide. I went with an AMD build as it was a little cheaper than an Intel build but I am not opposed to Intel. The wireless card is from newegg because its so small the shipping is only 6 dollars. My question is will that card fit in the case I have. If it won't I need to change cards not cases or think about creatively running a wire to the opposite side of my apartment and skip the wireless altogether. Also any recommendations on quiet 80 mm fans for the case since it does not come with any? Right now it comes out to about $426 + fans.
