First time on a plane

Going on a business trip to San Francisco from Pittsburgh. This will be my first time on a plane. The plane takes off at 6:15pm tonight.

Any travel tips? Any sights to see in San Francisco when I'm not working?

Going to be there until next Saturday. Staying at the Courtyard Hotel in Emeryville. And yes we are getting a rental.

Emeryville is across the bay. I suppose you could see the various spots in SF that everyone likes to go to..Pier 39, Ghiradelli square etc. You could go to Napa, take a stroll in Sausalito or just drive up/down hwy1 along the ocean. You could try going to the Marin Headlands off the Alexander ave exit at the north end of the GG Bridge for some nice views from the bluffs. Or you could drive about 110miles south to Monterey/Carmel stopping at the beaches and Santa Cruz along the way. All depends on how much time you have.

Travel tips: Take a book and an mp3 player. You never know when you're going to be waiting somewhere for hours.

Take off your shoes, jacket, empty your pockets when you go through security... Take your laptop out of your bag also if you have one...

I hate it when people don't know how to go through security and I have to wait behind them while they figure it out...

Remove any rings near your nether regions. And the cute stewardess is trained to only give out her number after you ask at least 4 times.
In case of a water landing, use the fat person next to you as a flotation device.
Have a nice flight, Oceanic 815 is now boarding.

do not wear belt with metal belt buckle. OR wear it but take belt outta pants before security.

Wear a mask in case of SARS.
If you see a tall building in front of you...duck.
If the plane starts to shake mid-air, thats just the wing falling off.
Don't hit on the Stewardesses, they are men in drag.

The hot chick in the next seat has herpes.

Thats all i've been able to think about all week. Then it didn't help when I saw the beginning of Castaway on TV yesterday.
