First Timer -- help

first time comp builder:

a lot of the parts i'm going to buy are oem. so i'm assuming they won't come with ide/ribbon cables etc. so if i were to buy a cdrom oem, where would i get the ribbon cables? do ribbon cables come with cases? or do you have to buy them separately?

Any local Mom & Pop store will have them. They arn't to expensive. If all else fails, PM me and I'll send you a dozen of the ones I have laying around, stuffed in boxes and hidden in the attic.

IDE cable don't come with cases.

All motherboards include at least ONE IDE (usually ATA66/100) cable.

MSI motherboards include 2 (one ATA66/100 and the other ATA33) cables, so you don't need to buy extra cables.

You can get em from any of your local stores. Best Buy, Good Guys, Flanners, Circuit City. Whatever you got there =)
