The brain is still attached to the spinal cord and gills. All that was removed was muscle and digestive tract.

From what it looked like, the digestive track was still there. The back of half of a fish is just its large intestine, everything is shoved up in the "chest" area of the fish.

yeah, when I was in Korea, I ate sea cucumber raw that was just cut up, and the head of the fish our sashimi came from still flopped around a bit. The raw squid also wriggled on the plate too. Sooo gooood

I saw a japanese cooking show once where the chef cut the fish and put it on a plate. The flesh is already cut off but the fish head and bone is still moving! Also they also showed one with octopus!

Who cares if you're an Atheist? I don't think fish fit into God's divine plan no matter what religion you study anyway.
