i've never tried these tube lures but i'm interested in trying them out now. my buddy has been having luck with them the past few weeks. i went out last week and only caught 1 small mouth bass using rubber worms texas rigged. so it'll be fun to try these out!
I always have luck with Rooster Tails. I don't think I've ever gone fishing with one without catching a fish on it. Often I catch multiple fish. I've still yet to catch anything with a spoon, dating back to being a kid in early 90s.
sounds boring
when i fish i just catch and release personally. i was actually looking at buying some of the fish attractant scent stuff but after doing some research, it sounds like while you may get more hits with that stuff, fish tend to also swallow the hook when scented. i don't really want to deal with that since chances are the fish is going to die, and i have no intention on eating the fish.
anyone have experience with the attractant stuff?
Silver Spoons are my go to lure if I'm looking to catch big northern pike. That nice flash from the sun make the pike go wild.
I got the last 2 weeks off in August to go fishing in Minnesota with my buddies. My family has a log cabin in Cook, MN. We are going to use boats and fish a few lakes and a river for Walleyes, Pike, bass crappies and perch. Minnesota is the best state IMO to fish because of the 10,000 lakes and variety of fish. Pics of trip will be posted.

One day I'm going to go fishing up in the north and see what these fish are all about. I used to subscribe to Field and Stream magazine as a kid, and they'd talk about pike, walleyes, muskies, and such. In LA/MS, we don't have those, though we do have Alligator Gar, the worst fish ever.
I normally just cut the line as say "away from me you prehistoric snaggle toothed lure stealer". Kinda like sharks stealing your fish.
anyone here catch bluefin tuna?
anyone here catch bluefin tuna?
we caught 4 tuna in Aruba last month, and 1 mahi mahi. one of the tuna was a bitch for my friend to real in. it looked like he couldn't even turn the reel at points.
say WWHHAAATTTTT?
so i went fishing today for a couple hours before it started raining, and i tried out my tube lures. i put them on a 3/16th oz jig hook.
literally, the very first cast, i got stuck on the bottom of the lake. okay ... i cut it and put on a worm texas rigged.
after not getting much action with different colors i went back to to try out the tube lure again, different color. this time, literally my 2nd fucking cast, same shit happened - got stuck and i had to cut my line.
so i said f this and stuck w/the texas rigs yamamoto's.
i ended up catching 1 small mouth bass about a foot long, but my question is ... how the f do you use these tube lures w/out getting them stuck on the bottom? there just has to be something i was totally missing and being a noob at it.
How you hooking them?

i put the jig up through the tube and pushed it through, and tied the line to the eye on the hook sticking through, and the hook came out the back part of the tube.
maybe i just need to reel fast. it's hard to 'not let it sink' when the lake isn't too deep to begin with, because they drop fast, even w/the 3/16 oz weight on it.
