Updated to the omega drivers, and everything works now.

Well, I install the card, after removing my old drivers, and I can't do anything. Windows boots as normal, then the screen turns black and green, and nothing else works. Next, I went into safe mode, made sure all the drivers from the old graphics card were gone (which they were), then I install the drivers from the CD (repeated this process a few times, even trying out some of the older drivers on ATI's website, all the way back to version 3.0). It boots up like normal in low res. Then all of the sudden, a bubble pops up in the botton right, says new hardware found, and starts installing all the other stuff from the card. The screen freezes, and I can't do anything else. When I restart, the green and black screen comes back. I'm beginning to think I have a bad card. Anyone else have any similar problems or know a way to fix this.

By the way, I already updated bios, tried a higher wattage power supply. When I pop my old graphics card (a geforce2 GTS 64mb) in, the computer boots perfectly fine, as if nothing was ever wrong. So those aren't the problems. Any other guesses?

Definately not a bad card, bought another one from best buy, and still having the same problems.

Sorry, my computer setup:
AMD T-bred B 1700+ (running it at clock speeds during install)
Leadtek K7NCR18D (nforce2 Chipset)
512 MB PC2700 Ram, (tried clocking it down to pc2100 speeds during install)
Maxtor 160GB Hard Drive
Sound Blaster Extigy
Antec 350W power supply

Have you disabled the onboard firewire to see if that's the culprit? There's a jumper on the card to disable that feature (it's unmarked but documented on the web) and I know there were some early problems with WinXP/2K autodetecting and installing drivers. See if that doesn't get you to normal video modes.

If that doesn't work, then I'll be the first to say that since this was an open box buy from Best Buy, my money's on the 'bad card' theory.
