But the games says version 1.0??
New patch has normalized performance somewhat for Nvidia cards. Performance is still pretty bad for cutting edge hardware in a game that doesn't even look very good.
Per nvidia they are going to try and have a fix for their performance issues next month

I don't think what ManuelG said is what you think Nvidia states. The next driver release will give better performance with DA2 over 267.59.
AMD also helped with SHOGUN 2 DX11 implementation. Could we be seeing the same thing happen again?
Is AMD Purposely crippling performance on Nv cards? Or is optimizing the game code for the architecture causing nV cards to perform extremely poorly?
Performance Disparity
Obviously, performance is seriously degraded on NVIDIA video cards, when compared to AMD video cards. A quick Google search showed us that the problem is widespread, with very little outward activity on it from NVIDIA. This performance issue has been a problem since the Dragon Age 2 demo. Before the retail game was released, NVIDIA released a series of beta drivers, citing improved compatibility with Dragon Age 2. In our investigation, we found that "improved compatibility" does not necessarily mean "improved performance." NVIDIA and BioWare have some work to do to get this game running faster on GeForce video cards.
We have seen a lot of games benefit from DirectX 11 implementations, and Dragon Age 2 is no exception.[...]For this game, DirectX 11 brings SSAO, tessellation, global illumination with radiosity lighting, support for extensive small point lights for effects, and diffusion depth of field, and screen space ambient occlusion. Of these features, SSAO, DDOF and the new lighting renderer make the biggest differences for Dragon Age 2.
[H] review of DA2 performance.

Ouch.
Yes the driver hack does make some difference, about a 25% improvement. Hopefully nvidia will actually release something to fix it officially, rather than this user hack.
Also they need to fix SLI, as it's terrible in the game. Showing about 40% GPU usage across each card, but only 35-40fps

On High, without the dx11 effects. The 5870 is beating the gtx580 by a huge margin. I suspect Bioware may have went very shader heavy as the 5870 is approaching 6950 levels without dx11. This also explains the lower perf of Fermi cards. But they do catch up with dx11 stuff with this recent driver. Though SLI scaling still isn't good.
I am about halfway through the game though, and it's pretty good
I've read in some reviews that there's a lot of recycled sceneries with the dungeons. Have you noticed it as well?
Looks like the 270 drivers from NV will fix Dragon Age 2.

270.51 beta released.

Give them a try Groover!! This is what you've been waiting for!! Give it hell.
