[Edit - 17.4.2 drivers enable HDR properly on Polaris graphic cards]
I have a Polaris (RX470) with 17.4.1 driver set, outputting to an LG OLED. RGB 8Bit 4K@60Hz, and YCbCr 4:2:2 12bit 4K@60Hz both display correctly. I prefer RGB 8bit, as the text does look better (even compared to YCbCr 4:4:4).
In any case, none of the pixel options allow me to turn on the newly added Windows HDR (Display Settings). There is so little information online about this. Almost all search results point to technology preview/news articles talking about Polaris HDR capabilities and none with actual user experiences.
I understand that Radeon drivers do allow you to have HDR in DirectX full-screen HDR supported games (RE7, Shadow Warrior 2 etc), though personally I have not tried those games. With Windows10 Creators Update however, the HDR is supported natively in the new WDDM 2.2 display driver model. Has anyone gotten this to work with Polaris?
