And while 30 day warranty isn't exactly generous, its definitely better than Newegg's 15 day warranty:
With respect to refurbished products, Crucial warrants to the original customer purchasing such products directly from Crucial that all such products sold will be free from defects in materials and workmanship affecting form, fit and function. Any claim must be made within thirty (30) days from the original date of shipment and Crucial shall have no liability thereafter.

somewhat off topic but regarding refurbs.. I recently got down on a refurb sapphire 9800 pro from newegg and when it arrived the heatsink had bent up pins from someone manhandling it....not a big deal so i installed it hoping for the best but as soon as i loaded Doom3 I could see artifacts on the menu and the graphics in game were terrible...checkerboards everywhere. I guess my point is make sure you test any refurb on lots of games cus sometimes its not as noticable like in call of duty i only get checkerboards in muzzle flashes n things like that. Oh and newegg did waive the restocking fee when i called so im only out like 10 dollars to ship the card back and forth.

$100 a hot deal for this card?
Buh...

I'm surprised you didn't see the other 9550 cards on Newegg that were cheaper than the one you listed. Gigabyte has a 128bit one for $74, just to let everyone know. Just search for it on the site. I wouldn't pay $100 for a budget card.

I fixed the link and here's a site with a review of the card
It should be noted the review is of the 9550 "XT" with much higher clocks than the card sold at Newegg. A better review comparison would be the Sapphire Radeon 9550 128MB DDR (250/400) 128-bit 8X AGP.

Even cheaper...

ABIT RADEON 9550 128MB DDR (250/400) 128-Bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP - RETAIL

$64.00 + $.99 Shipping

128-bit R9550 (250/400) is slower than the 128-bit R9600 (325/400) in every test of the Digit-Life review. Jetway R9600 128MB DDR 128-bit with standard 325/400 clock is $67.00 + free shipping.

In spite of the "LE" designation, this is a full clocked 128-bit R9600 model identical to the Rosewill R9600 model that sells for $78.00 + $2.00 shipping.

Jetway part# 96LE-AD-128C
Rosewill part# 96LE-AD-128C

Exact same card, $13.00 difference, both of which are faster than R9550, if only by a small margin.

Guys, the OP's card has clocks of 400/500 (3.3ns RAM), not 250/400 like a regular 9550. The Rosewill 9600 (325/400) may be a better buy if you are looking for something cheaper, though.

So the LE designation is incorrect? How can you tell this?

Thanks.

According to newegg the card is clocked at 250/400.

It is incorrect in the sense that most "LE" cards are underclocked versions of standard models. Jetway Taiwan has two different R9600 "LE" positions; a 64-bit and 128-bit, neither of which are underclocked. The 64-bit is also unusual as 64-bit crippling is typically designated "SE", not LE.

Jetway USA follows the customary "SE" for its 64-bit R9600 but its "LE" is 325/400 @ 128-bit. So I think there are probably different marketing names used depending on the country/region. Jetway's Model # 96LE-AD-128C is clearly used by Rosewill as the Part # for its R9600 325/400.

Detailed Specification

Model No: RW9600-128D
Part No: 96LE-AD-128C
Chipset: ATI Radeon 9600
Core Clock: 325MHz
Memory Spec: 8M x 16 x 8pcs
Memory Size: 128MB DDR / 128-bit
Memory Clock: 400MHz
Rendering Pipelines: 4 pipelines
Fill Rate: 1.3G pixels /sec
RAMDACs: 400MHz DACs

Your guess is as good as mine why Jetway calls it Radeon 9600LE, unless it is crippled in some other way I am not aware of, but it doesn't appear to be. All specs (and photos) indicate it is the exact same card as the Rosewill selling for $13.00 more.

@ $67.00 + free shipping, the Jetway model seems to be the deal of the month. There is nothing faster in the Newegg catalog under $90.00.

Does anyone know which version of the ATI HDTV dongle will work with the Jetway card -- the VGA->Component dongle, or the DVI->component?

I bought and own this card, and can assure you it is not clocked at that speed but in fact the core is at 400 and the memory at 500.

i also bought this card a few days ago, heard its a great card at a reasonable price. most awesome thing is you can overclock it to a 9600 xt. but i have no clue of how to do this yet. if any one have any experience in this... how do you do it?

Thanks for the information.

How much "upgrade" would this Jetway card provide over a nVidia GF4 ti4200 128MB?

Thanks.

I think the two cards would perform about the same. I'm guessing the Ti4200 would beat it in most games, but the Jetway 9600 *may* be a little better for some apps.

I'd keep the Ti4200.

I got the Jetway for $67 shipped. It arrived today but I haven't had time to install it yet. I did look at the memory chips on it and here are the markings:

samsung

k4d261638f -tc36

Can anyone shed some light (speed performance) on these chips? There are 8 of them on the card.

Thanks.

I'm guessing the tc36 means 3.6 nanoseconds, which means its rated for 555mhz.

This is why this is/was such a good deal. Almost every 9550/9600 will hit the core speed that an 9600 XT is clocked at, but the memory that ships on these cards sucks. This card ships with the same speed RAM as the 9600 XT which is why it performs like an 9600 XT (if you overclock it).

The card that was referenced by these memory markings was a $67 Jetway card, NOT the $99 Gigabyte 9550 that is a 9600XT in disguise.

try using ATiTool or RivaTuner.

I just ordered this after looking at most of the 9600pro's. its cheaper and the same speeds stock plus itll out do them when overclocked. also the hsf looks alot nicer than most of the 9600 pros such as the sapphires dinky fan.

550MHz, same difference.

I suspect these chips are speed binned rejects that would not run over 225MHz (450MHz DDR) because I'll be damned if I can get passed 225MHz without artifacts in UT2003 and 3DMark 2001SE. Even tried aiming a fan onto the video card - can't get passed 225MHz. The card is rock solid, though, up to 225MHz.

I thought it was overkill to put 550MHz DRAM on a card with a default clock of 400MHz. Now it makes perfect sense....
