Fixing Wall Tips?

Hiya,

I know how to fix a hole in a wall, but was unsure of what to do with this sort of problem.

Basically, smashed something into the wall, paint fell off. How to fix? Is it the same, get some plaster, fill in, repaint? Sort of lose the texture of the original wall though first right?

Dorm room? Use whiteout.

Edit: Taking a second look, it's a little deep. Use toothpaste then whiteout.

Not dorm, rented apartment/condo, so must fix semi-decently. Already ruled out the toothpaste trick.

knock off the loose bits (looks like the upper portion is about to fall off).

[*]Get some drywall patch, and put a thin layer over the damage.
[*]Take a wet paper towel or a sponge, and dab it on the surface, attempting to mimic the existing finish as much as possible.
[*]Wait for it to dry, then sand the surface to better match the surrounding wall.
[*]Paint.

thats no hole! but yes, a bit of spackle and elbow grease is what you need.

all you did was scratch some paint and probably just a very thin layer of joint compoint off that corner bead.

Just put a thin layer on, texture to match (looks like short-nap roller), then prime over it since your wall looks like it is bleach white
