I would've thought they'd have it the day before to put out for the next day's opening. But the manager that helped me last night said Fedex comes (for them) about noon. Don't know if I buy that story, but she was nice enough to let my buy the cube last night and come back, so I wasn't gonna make a break for the stock room to try and find it

Heh, my boss told me it was okay to accept the bundle last week w/ the $20 GC ... though I was pretty sure that deal expired last week like I said earlier anyway.

I know the cupon for the free $20 GC WILL work if you can get someone to give it to you, but that's a big YMMV (One of my coworkers did that Sunday by mistake, so I know the cupon's still in the system).

Heh, I gave some people the $20 off when I rung up the bundles too. I didn't look at the circular saying that the bundles were excluded. I went by the coupon, and the coupon lists the bundle as being valid since the item 0004 is on it. Oh well.

And yes, Target does usually get video games, some accessories, books, and software in the afternoon. But a big game like Metroid, I figured Target would at least get it the day before to prep it for the 20th.. I guess I was wrong.

Keep calling, it's about 2:45p eastern, and it should be there if not, then soon.

It's true, in fact we usually don't get the game until 2 days after the release date of the game. And the manager told you the truth, we get 90% of our games via FedEx (my store doesn't get the FedEx shipment until past 3pm-4pm usually) and those games that don't come via FedEx are usually older games that no one really cares about.

Printed it out, along with a printout of a page where I added a GameCube to my cart with no description of the gift card deal. (i.e., this isn't even available online)

Went to Target # 2 after work and first showed the cashier the original printout. He said "Cool". He saw my $5 Metroid Prime coupon and said "You want Metroid Prime for $15?" and I said "Sure! Oh hey if I apply for a Target card I get 10% off right?" and he said yeah.

To make a long story a little less long, nobody knew how to ring up the $20 giftcard, including the Electronics Cashier, the Guest services guy that rung me up, or the Supervisor. So a call was made to the Electronics Supervisor... who was in a meeting!! So the cashier made the Executive Decision to just take the $20 off my bill so i didn't have to wait around.

oh yeah, i asked about the gift card as well, and he said "well that was last week's gamecube promotion, this week's is the $30 off metroid when you buy a gamecube"

oh well, still not bad!

and the target i went to in Lexington, KY had like 3 of the platinum GC's and i think 2 more of the bundles w/ mario sunshine, and at least 10 more metroid games... who knows what they had in the back too

the $20 giftcard was no go for me. The guy couldn't find it in this week's ad, so said it expired. Oh wellz. But get this, there was a sticker on the window that said "get $20 off instantly when u buy metroid prime and a gc console." So I confirmed with the guy that the game will cost $20 and not $30 (since i never saw the ad). He goes.. "u'll get $20 off like the stickersays".. blah blah.. and starts reading the sticker at a 3rd grader rate (couldn't even pronounce everything right). I asked to see the ad and he showed me. I pointed out to him that it says $20 on the ad and he goes "yea, the original price is (points at 49.99) and you get $20 off which brings you to (points at 19.99). I told him not really, but I'll take it. Shows how intelligent people could be =)
