To be honest, I don't see a whole lot of eBay potential here unless you use a stackable 5% off coupon and your state does NOT assess sales tax.

The exceptions are the 200 GB retail hard drives from Western Digital and Maxtor. The Maxtor kit, in particular comes in under $100 after $120 rebate and all discounts are factored.

Great prices on digital cameras and Axims if you need one for yourself or as a gift. But profit margins on resale aren't that jaw-dropping IMO.

I'm not sure if I should be annoyed since I bought a Maxtor 160 GB retail kit from Staples recently for $96 shipped (as many others did), no rebate hassle. I don't really need the extra 40 GB, do I? ;P

Ross,
How does anyone get a stackable 5% off coupon code by email now? Besides trolling on FW Forums for a spare?

Actually, I wanted the hard drive for myself...have 3 40GB Maxtors rigfht now running in my systems, but I want to dedicate a couple of them for tv eps, mp3's, and for general backups and use this hard drive in my primary machine. How can you tell whether a specific hard drive has a rebate or not?

EDIT: nevermind, I just saw "Rebate Details" in tiny letters in one of the descriptions...thanks anyway

Yeah, the profit comment wasn't geared towards you but just as general discussion. Dell makes it easy to spot rebates; they are displayed right next to the current price. Also, "OEM" or "bare drives" very seldom have rebates, so stick to retail kits.

The Dell part number for the Maxtor drive (best deal I've seen) is A0084020 . Just do a search.

And don't get me wrong, great prices overall. I'm not sure if I'll pull the trigger or not. By the time I decide, the second 15% off will probably have already been pulled.

hehe, thanks. Im actually trying to decide whether to buy right now or not...one of my machines is down because of what looks like a crapped out video card, and I dont know when Im gonna have time to fix it, which would also mean that this hard drive will be sitting there doing nothing if I order it right now and I dont get my PC up and running soon.

Well, I got in with a DSC-F717 digital camara for < $580 shipped, but it looks like deal is dead. I was curious and decided to try a few more items, and they're all coming up as just the original 15% off now, including the deal I just did.

Have to move fast I guess.

DEAL DEAD!!!

Whoa, that was weird.

I had the (2nd) auto 15% off in my cart. Also a 5% off email code successfully applied.

Got all the way to the final confirmation page, and all the prices were correct. I hit the confirm button, and the dreaded "invalid coupon" popup appears.

I quickly look at the confirmation page to make sure the discounts are still there, and hit confirm again. This time, I get the "Thank you" page.

In the end, I couldn't justify purchasing an S45. The Kingston 256 MB CF is a great deal at ~ $20 AR. It appears that the PDF rebate form links at Dell SB are currently broken. I'm not too worried since the offer dates are still valid.

Edit:
Oh hell, guess I'm not paying close enough attention. The order confirmation email shows the 5% off coupon was kicked out. I thought that I "own" it once it's in my shopping cart and gets all the way to the final confirmation page. Guess I'll haggle w/ Dell about it on Monday.

Just got the Linksys WET11 and Microsoft MN-500 hub for $132 after tax. Subtract $20 MS rebate and $112 for what normally costs $100 just for the WET11.

Deal is still working though you have to jump through hoops to get it.

1. Add item to cart.
2. Sign into account (if already sign in click on link at top of order to sign in again)
Upon signing in, the price should be adjusted in your cart, but no 15% discount shows in coupon section anymore
3. Add a second item
15% coupon appears in cart
4. Remove item you added
5. Checkout

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ME!!!!!!

got the AXIM 400mhz for $250 shipped including tax at small bussiness

Go to small bussiness--click on the %20 deals--select handheld--add to cart %20 discount appears--total 290 or something

now comes the magic click on the sign in button re-enter your user name and password--the %20 will disappear--add something to the cart and the discount re-appears--remove the item and viola $250 for a shipped iaxim 400mhz.

good luck I feel kind of guilty for taking advantage of a glitch but other people have purchased this same item from dell for around the same price using coupons so I guess I can sleep.

This might work for other items as well
good luck

Yep - this still works 15% plus another 15%, but you may have to "play around" to make it work - sign in, delete an item, etc.

Watch for "price has changed", followed by the 15% discount (which you may have to add and then delete an item for the secon 15% to show up)

I also don't feel guilty - yesterday, I used the 20% magazine coupon (legally sent to me) and a 15% off your order coupon (legally sent to me via email)....

so this "extra" order still didn't match that - I got 15, and 15 again.

I know, should have ordered the extra stuff yesterday.

I got the Dimage XT for for $312.98 including shipping and tax. This is a hot deal. It is the ultimate point-n-shoot camera! This is the first time I have seen Minolta cameras in Dell's inventory.

Wow, finally got this to work. Tried all afternoon and it just would not. Finally tried some random order deal of adding stuff, re-logging in, deleteing stuff, suddenly the only remaining item just dropped another 15%. No other indication, just dropped 15%. I'll take it.

Killer deal of at least the week, maybe longer.

I had catalogs w/ 10%, 15% and 20%. The 20% appears to be the actual offer that is running so I can't add that. I cannot find my 10 & 15% catalogs anywhere. Wonderful, just wonderful.

I've looked and looked and haven't been able to find the $120 rebate for that 200GB drive.
Does anyone have a link to the rebate form?
