Right now I have a Canon S800 that I bought in Jan2002 @ BB for $300. It only does 2400X1200dpi, so I?m waiting until they have higher/better print resolutions than 4800Dpi. Dunno how long that will take, but its hard to justify getting a new printer since this one isn't even 18 months old yet. And since I might print like 5 or 10 Photo quality prints per year, its just better to wait instead of getting the i850. But I seriously gave it some thought once I saw it advertised at $129 locally.

BTW, it does seem true that the more you spend on a printer, the less you shell out in the long run for cartridges. All 6 of my original Inkjet Cartridges for this Canon S800 lasted about 15 months. Now that?s a quality printer. Also, hopefully the next gen. of printers will be USB 2.0 compatible. or hell, even Firewire. I'll finally have a reason to use one of my Firewire ports.

And that?s my $0.02

No matter how hard you try you can't crap on this thread. This printer kicks ass and is worth every penny. I am going to see if I can get a couple more at this price.

Was $91.26 online, this should be new boxed with all paperwork. (Model: 7819A001)

Would they price match this to a b&m?

Called SAMS in Dublin, Ohio. They have three, but they're $118. Of course, two cartridges for my Lexmark Z22 will be, like, $60... Decisions...

Yes. M'ship is about $35 per year. Easily pays for itself if you shop there with any degree of frequency.

Or, if you know a friend who has a m'ship, just go with them.

Or get a job there, like me!

Ok I figured out the pricing difference from store to store. The first Sams club I went to in my area had one for $71, but it had none of the accessories (power cable, USB cable, paperwork, ect). I went to the other Sams and they had one with all of the stuff, minus the box, for $100. I have to assume that the guys that are reporting the $118 is new in box, where as mine was the flooor model and the last one they had. All-in-all still a very good deal on a great printer.

The one I got for $75 was new in box, with all the paperwork, USB Cable, Sample photo pack having 5 glossy photo papers... the pictures I got printed on them was so real and unbelievable... It printed 4/6 picture in abt 30 seconds.. Maybe I should've bought all of them from the store(there was only 2 more left).

My local Sam's Club doesn't have any of these, but what they do have is 4x6 prints from digital media on archival paper using a top-of-the-line Fuji Frontier printer for 19 cents. Even with the i850 at $75, I'd have to do 394 photo prints just to start breaking even, and that doesn't include my ink or paper costs.

Then again, my normal printing needs are strictly black and white and my $30 Minolta laser from Staples handles that duty just fine.

Costco does the same thing. Same Fuji developer as the 1hr film prints use. Excellent quality and value.
