Knocking off as much as possible, I got it down to $525 after shipping- still trying to decide if it's good enough to warrant buying- I don't need another computer!!!

Yeah, you could build it yourself for that much and you won't have to tell everyone you have a Gateway.

is that a decent video card in the Gateway-- the 32MB NVIDIA? GeForce2 MX200 AGP Graphics card? nxt month i'm building a computer with same Intel Pentium IV CPU, but was told a TNT video card is not the way to go, but the suggestions for alternatives were all $90 or higher...titanium stuff or something.....and i'm not a gamer.... can anyone suggest a video card in the $50-$80 range to go with an Intel Pentium IV? i know this is off topic, but i just noticed the gateway specs at the link and am thinking maybe the 32MB NVIDIA? GeForce2 MX200 card is the way to go. thanks

best video card you can get in the $50-$80 range would be an ATI Radeon 7500 or a GeForce2 video card. They're the same performance and run most current and future games well. The Geforce mx200 is not a card you want to buy for your new system since it run future games very slow.

Another possiblity would be to substitute a Athlon for a Pentium4 chip. You can use the $20 or so you save to buy a geforce4mx which would be a little faster I think.

ZippZ:

Disagree. Go w/ the P4 1.6A (~$150) and OC it to 2.2GHz. Best bang for buck.

PrineFan:

Go w/ the GF2 GTS-V and OC it. If you can wait a month or so go w/ the GF3 Ti200. Should be sub $100 w/ the intro of GF4.

Same here...I can only got it down to $525....if only they have free shipping and can call up customer service and remove the 1yr warranty, etc.... Like the gateway 6400 server.....that will make the deal super sweet.

How'd you get it that low? Do you have a quote # for that configuration?

Thanks,

You can get the configuration price down to $576 then add $49 for shipping ($625) and then subtract $100 (for those that can use the coupon) and voila'! You get $525...
