For anyone that is near Macon, GA, they had one as of 3:00 today at the Eisenhower Square Staples. I did not see it, but the clerk put in the sku and said they had one in the box. I didn't get it as I got one yesterday and did not have a coupon with me and I don't live in Macon and didn't want any trouble trying to get the price adjusted tomorrow.

Ok, here is my deal. I couldn't believe they had one, but I got the last one at a Greensboro, NC location this afternoon!! After talking to the sales guy and the operations manager, they didn't think they could do both rebates for me. But he did say that I could come back in tomorrow and get a price match on the 150 MIR that is coming out tomorrow as long as I didn't open the box tonight. ( I am about to die to open it, but I would die from my wife killing me if I did). So, I buy it, using the HP printable $50 off coupon that expires today, 10/12/02. Out the door price of $776.92 and it prints off the HP 100 MIR at the register. I can't find anything on the rebate receipt about having to include the original or any UPC, unless I am missing something. So, I am hoping that I can do both. If I have to send the original to HP, does anyone know if Staples will take a copied UPC for their rebates? If I can do both, it will be a total of $526.92 and I will be even more psyched! Thanks for all the great info here. I have been lurking for quite a while, but these deals lately are great. Thanks!!

Does anyone know what a warranty upgrade from Staples would cost for this notebook? An additional warranty from HP is $99. I don't usually get them, but thinking about it for a laptop.

Everyone is able to get the $100 HP rebate, but the $150 staples rebate is NOT national... The staples around here (DFW area) are giving a $150 instant rebate on PCs (NOT laptops) so the price would be $150 higher so it will come to $629.50 + tax which is still a decent deal...

Searched my immediate area for additional units...nadda. If one turns up I would be happy to get one for somebody, going back tomorrow to get the new MIR from Staples, if they can find another one I will get it and give it to you guys.....they had one on display, but it was really really light...display unit??..he said something about a dummy unit?

As to the new 150 MIR, the manager had the new ad in his office ( starting 10/13/02, big Columbus Day sale) and tried to figure out if I could do both, he concluded I couldn't, but I am hoping I can since the register printed out the HP receipt at checkout.

Any insight??

I got a lappy on hold for me at a local Staples. The manager actually let me put it on hold until tomorrow. I explained about the rebate, but she didn't know anything about it. In my area it is in the ad so I am hoping that it is there. Will let you guys know.

The $150 rebate is different even for cities in the same state. In Columbus it shows up, but in Dayton and Cincinnati they don't show at all. You can check tomorrows ad online right now. I bought my notebook in Cincinnati and will drive to Columbus tomorrow to do the return/rebuy. Hopefully there is no problem doing it at a different store than the one I purchased from. WIsh me luck.

Thanks for the heads up about checking the flyer online. I punched it up and put the Fond du Lac store as my local store and THANK GOD they have
the Save $150 on any PC Package by mail. I clicked on one of the advertised laptops and it shows the $100 HP rebate and the $150 Staples rebate.

I picked mine up this morning in Noblesville, IN. Last boxed one in the store.

I was kicking myself for missing the 1201 deal and had went to the store the other day to see what else they had. I spotted the 1210 for $779.50 and thought that looked like a good starting point for a hot deal but don't have the keen skills of other members to find the details to seal the deal.

How true on the huge cost of all these hot deals. Isnt it awesome that we missed out on that 1201 deal? This is just so so so much better. Laptop in hand
