North Olmsted,OH has one in stock, I called on Friday night and drove there 1 hour ago. A guy checked the computer and told me it's still there. 5 minutes later, he came out and told me that someone had holded it.....
It wasted me 1 hour driving over there becasue I forget to hold it.:-(.
That would have been me. I called Friday morning and picked it up Friday afternoon. You holding it on Friday evening would have done no good, because it was gone by then. They must not have updated their inventory.

BTW: Are you living in Cleveland or drove over 50 miles to pick it up?^_^

I got the last 2 @ Santa Clara, CA.
I phoned Santa Clara at 1:15 and the guy told me "I've just sold the last two"! Well done Sir, you were quicker on the draw than I.
Originally posted by: NebbyI want to figgure out a way to put linux on here, since according the the software, you need to buy upgrades to get NAS, Web server, and even FTP, for a low low LOW price of only $140 for each upgrade :disgust:
I'm wondering how to get about to it, perhaps take out the hard drive, plug it into my desktop, format it, then put the installation files on the drive? Any linux gurus handy?

The clerks at the store are completely idiots. I got there and one of them checked the computer, saying that they had two in stock. However they didn't know what/where they were. no clue, nothing.... So, I spent 1 hour for nothing. What a waste.... While I was there they were sucking people's money by selling overpriced items. A kid bought 60gb compusa brand hard drive with extended(?) compusa warranty for $135 + tax.
It's the store in Paramus, NJ.
called right after seeing your post, which was about 1 1/2 hour after, and was told none in stock. didn't want to waste a 1 1/2 driving round-trip to double check - what a retail store, customers can't take the employees' words . the compusa employee probably took the remainders after you leftOriginally posted by: meehawl
[QI ended up getting one in San Bruno... it's a nice little box. THey had a couple left but I decided against getting them for Fleabay because it seemd like a lot of hassle for a hundred bucks or so, and kind stinky and unfair to people who might really *need* a mail server.

I'm personally amazed you got through to anyone. I was phoning San Bruno last Friday for basically 20 minutes and getting nothing but voicemail. I even tried some basic phreaking and got through to random extensions (they are all on an x-4XX code) but it seems like *nobody* there is actually answering the phone. So I was pretty dumfounded when the store manager called back in response to my voicemail saying she'd put one away.
Of course, Emeryville and SF CompUSAs never bothered returning the voicemail. Respect to San Bruno!
San Jose, Pleasanton and San Bruno stores' employees answered the phone right away. Though they treated me like a retard 'cuz they couldn't hear me well over the cellular phone I pressed 3-3 in the voice system.Originally posted by: meehawl

I just got two of these at the Encinitas (San Diego) CA store. There is one left for now.... Thanks for the tip. Not sure what I'll do with it yet, but at that price who could resist.
